Jan has taken the lead in some if not the majority of recruits, namely McGaughy and Mays.A transfer may certainly still occur. Hopefully not. A decommitment is more likely imo….but nothing we can do if so.

What's the issue with her other than you apparently not liking her?Never!!
Love Jan as a coach but wonder if there wasn't bigger fish we could have lured to Iowa
Sort explains why she never would sub throughout the year to get Feuerbach, McCabe, and others in with the starting rotation when we were blowing crappy teams out of the water by 30 points. Didn't have to worry about replacing all of these seniors next year because she was going to walk away from the team.

Very true. Hope not as well.A transfer may certainly still occur. Hopefully not. A decommitment is more likely imo….but nothing we can do if so.
If all of the thousands of people involved in:FWIW, I don't see how the current player or recruits could have been clued into this...there is no way that stays a secret for 30 seconds, let alone several weeks, IMO.
Was that ever a thing for a head coaching job at Iowa? I can understand it for assistants, maybe. So no mandatory two week job posting any more. HR is a changing.
Addy Deal watch begins now…
Barta would have asked KF who he should hire. It would have taken KF two months to come up with the answer.Barta would have posted the job, taken 2 months to make a decision, and by then 1/3 of the roster would have entered the portal. Great hire by a great AD.
Kirk being Kirk.women's basketball - hire a new head coach in 23 minutes
Iowa football - take 4 months to hire offensive coordinator

Bluder sending a message to Fran. Retire with dignity. And the best part is, this is winningest coach in our history’s, on the best 10 year run in our history and he still routinely gets shade…
Why coach another year, when you can retire while winning.
Didn't Stanford use one announcement for both? That was 0 seconds.23 minutes.
Is this the fastest hire in history?

I retired at 61 and it added years to my life. I hope and pray that Lisa's retirement isn't health related. Seems awfully sudden especially after a high profile transfer was added to the roster. The amount of energy (physical and especially mental) to run it back-to-back in the most high profile era had to have been immense. The fire to keep going back at it as a young player is one thing, but doing so as a 63 year old coach is totally another. Not saying that’s the reason, but if it is at all, totally understand it and more power to her! What an awesome run for coach Bluder - enjoy retirement!!
I hope that is it. She did talk in the last few weeks or so about there being a bit of a letdown this year after where they were at the last couple of seasons. The amount of energy (physical and especially mental) to run it back-to-back in the most high profile era had to have been immense. Thank you, Coach Bluder!
I think a lot of us have the same though re the timing. If it is more than she's letting on she's chosen not to share that right now and that's her business.I retired at 61 and it added years to my life. I hope and pray that Lisa's retirement isn't health related. Seems awfully sudden especially after a high profile transfer was added to the roster.
Fran could never go out after back to back national runner up’sBluder sending a message to Fran. Retire with dignity.
Then you should never talk to your selfI know I shouldn’t engage with idiots, but who do you think thud should have gone after?
Doom? Jaysus HWow didn't see that coming. Wonder how many recruits it costs Iowa? Could very well spell doom for Iowa women's basketball
Agree. This is hood for keeping players and a well deserved role for Jan.Jan was named new head coach- no big gap. It will all work out!! Whew!!
