Oh Butters

And compare the completion percentage:

What does this mean to the current QBs and recruits?

Brendan Sullivan, right now, will be fighting for at best QB1 and at worst QB2; then he will be in line for QB1 next season. Will Marco stick around and try to win the starting job next season? We'll see.

Next Year's Iowa QB Room:

It's hard to not be pretty happy (and relieved) at this turn of events. Lester gets the bulk of the credit of course, but KF and the entire staff get some credit for building and maintaining an environment where good players still want to play, despite recent struggles on O.

I will award a 👍

The QB room has been a mess for a while now.

Brendan Sullivan, Joe Labas & Deacon Hill are from the Class of 2021. Carson May is from the Class of 2022 (on January 3, 2023, he entered the transfer portal & ended up transfering to Coffeyville CC in Kansas).

Here are the QBs that have recently moved on from Iowa:

These 2 didn't last very long, either:

Based on these rankings, I really think I have a shot at a 5.5 right now!

This is absolutely fantastic!

Everything Lester has done so far has impressed me beyond what I was hoping for.

I feel very confident that we will not recognize our offense this fall, in a good way.
Energy seems up but we haven't seen anything in game yet. I think I'll wait to just give praise for an unseen product.

I truly hope he is what this program needs otherwise KF needs to go.

I believe that in the pre-Portal days (when you had to sit and lose a year of eligibility) it would have potentially rubbed the wrong way and could manifest negativity within the QB room and potentially the locker room (picking sides).

In the Portal era, it should strengthen the room and recruiting (HS & Portal). If a QB steps into a program these days and find it isn't a fit or that they're buried in the depth chart, they have unrestricted free agency and can leave for a better pasture, fit-wise.

Good QBs are smart, tough, ridiculously competitive and incredibly confident in themselves. I'd be very leery of a QB who isn't up initially to putting in the work and proving themselves against other QBs...HARD PASS on that kid.

Throw in the kid from Wisconsin who got his scholarship pulled and then the QB from Michigan who turned into a punter, it’s amazing how bad our QB evaluation has been the past several years. Just terrible.

Do think that theres a chance(gulp) that Lester puts in packages for Sullivan to run that utilizes his legs?
If Cade is QB1, I think Sullivan would get a few packages. Lester has done it before @ WMU.

Here's the same question, asked differently: If Sullivan is QB1, do you think there is a chance that Lester puts in packages for Cade?

In my opinion, no.

Your own honest answer should tell you everything you need to know about the similarities and differences between the two QBs.

Sullivan was an active B1G QB generating starts and stats in RPO system last year. Cade was not.

Cade has the spring experience in studying and taking mental reps during the spring install. Sullivan needs to study and try to master Lester's language and concepts, which I think a Northwestern guy would more than up to the task to accomplish.

Cade and Sully will battle it out this fall camp. I have a high degree of confidence that Lester will choose the best player at QB1 and Kirk will sign off on it.

Is Deuce still on the loose? It would have been cool to see him drop a deuce(2 point conversion) in a game.

He redshirted in 2020. I think he has 2 more years (this season and next) at Kentucky.

At Kentucky:

2022: 3 Game appearances, 6-7 for 19 yds

2023: did not appear in any games

Really nice get for Iowa I think, especially considering the last couple of years well documented struggles. Fits the system that Lester is trying to run.

What we see this fall will all depend on how healthy CM will be as I still think it is his job to lose. Accuracy and the threat for the occasional keeper is what Lester is looking for I believe. CM is a great thrower but might not have the burst for the full playbook. Sullivan's numbers look night and day better than Deacon's so you would think he should be a giant upgrade. I also have been a fan of Marco so just want to see him develop and stay the course as I think he has a lot of talent.

I stopped being excited about KF QB commits a LONG time ago. I have basically no faith that any of them could be better than mediocre.

LOL

Oh, insane one. I knew you'd reply with a bunch of nonsense; you're a very predictable jackass.

Why are you so obsessed with me, insane one?

Seek help. Seriously.

And don't reply. Seriously. But with your obsessions and with your issues, I am sure you will.
LMFAO!

Nobody is more predictable on this board than you fake frannie.

Your comebacks are as original as every other post of yours.

Obsessed? LOL, I’m trying to help you.

I’ll say it again.

SEEK HELP!

If it is the players I am thinking of both were from Illinois.
