BSD: IA vs PSU 2016

all hypothetical of course, but that's just about how I would guess it happens

slightly generous to Iowa - giving them the close ones - 125, 133, 184, and esp 141

I'm also thinking PSU could get bonus at 174 unless Alex protects his legs better

I don't think 133 would be close. Did you see how Richards rode Conway. Wouldn't be surprised with a major by Clark. Plus I would expect a pin at 285, exactly the type of opponent that I expect him to pin.

141 would be the ultimate toss up

Of course he is. If there's one thing we know about Tom Brands, it's that he ducks every challenge he possibly can.

You guys need to stop going to the boards with all the crazies and use the board that serious PSU wrestling fans use--On The Mat sponsored by Scout. Not saying you'll never see something that lights your fire but I think you will run into fewer of the bandwagon fans---jus sayin.......

I've never been to any board but this one, with the very rare exceptions of occasional visits to HawkeyNation and maybe a brief congratulatory post or two on the PSU board. I intend to keep it that way.

That said, your recommendation sounds like a good one for those interested in checking out other boards.

As you can see, I joined this board about five months before you did, but I am over 2500 and some posts behind you! Obviously, I have been a lurker more than a poster. I enjoy the discussions of knowledgeable wrestling fans and the give and take that goes with it. But, I cringe when I see some of the over-the-top comments made by some of my fellow PSU fans. I have been to a number of NCAA championships and always enjoyed my conversation with fans of other schools.

I wrestled in high school and college and consider myself a fan of the sport first and PSU second. But, even given that, it still disturbs me when I see Iowa fans reaction to some of our lunatics and paint all of us with the same brush. But, I also understand it – it is a very normal reaction. That is why I mentioned this site on scout. Many of the posters on there either wrestled or followed the sport before Cael figured out how to put his headgear on. They are also very good at policing the people who tend to go crazy.

Certainly not trying to get you to leave this site – it's a good one and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Yep, I admit that I'm an Iowa wrestling junkie. It's a good thing my old screen name got banned a while back, or my post count would have been even more embarrassingly high. I've actually been on this board, through its various iterations, since 2000.

44, you should lurk less and post more on this board. And I agree completely with your take on how fans tend to paint other fan bases with a broad brush based on the lunacy of a few. As you say, it's a natural reaction, but it's unfortunate, because a presumably small minority of knuckleheads end up pitting otherwise very reasonable fans against one another simply by name association with the teams they support.

I may check out that other board, because I'm all for civil discussion with other diehard wrestling fans. One thing you'll notice about this board is that reasonable, polite fans like yourself -- regardless of the school they support -- are welcomed with open arms. The chest thumpers get a decidedly different reaction from this group, and deservedly so. So don't be a stranger. The more of your kind around here, the better. I'm sure you have a lot of interesting insights to share.

Thanks WWDM. I appreciate the welcoming response. I'm glad we could establish some common ground to go forward. Maybe I'll be able to double my post count between now and Nationals!
