Looks like there are several weights where 2 Iowa wrestlers might meet in the finals. Good to see. Thanks for the updates.

Are those 88 lb Iowans incoming 8th graders? Looks like both won their quarter final match pretty easily. Do they wrestle each other in the Semis or opposite sides of the bracket?

Schriever loses 7-9 in the semis and Rathjen loses 5-5 on Criteria. Rathjen will wrestle in the 7th place match. Schriever will face the PA wrestler who beat Rathjen in the consi semis.

Ayala into finals with another tech:
88 Drake Ayala Fort Dodge, IA (Iowa) VSU Tommy Curran Warrenville, IL (Illinois), 10-0 1:05

I've said it before, sign him up! Smart kid, will get to pick where he wants to go to College.

What about the other Ayala who was ranked 5th at 106 this year? He quit mid season. Any chance he's back on the Dodger squad or will Drake move into that spot?

Jeremy Ayala aka "Cowboy" should be their 120 lber this season. They'll be real solid through 132.

Brandon O`brien is a good example that you don't need to start wrestling when you are 6 years old. My boy used to roll around with him, I'm pretty sure BO started his fourth grade year. Very aggressive and almost a little dirty, a lot of kids didn't like wrestling him. That may have changed. Very small for his age it seemed. I want to say he will be going into 8th, maybe a freshman. I just remember he had at least a couple of years on my boy.

Now he's making the long drive to see Sebolt and looks to have improved a lot (he was already pretty good).

I just remembered that O'Brien was a double gold winner Pan-Am games last fall.

Is he still at CRP?

O'Brien should be a freshman this year. He is a Linn Mar resident. He never went to or lived in the Prairie district.

He was at DC Elite for a few years and then moved onto Sebolt.

During this past season he was in the 75 lb range but I have not seen him in a couple of months so I don't know what his actual weight is. Highly unlikely that he will be anywhere near 106 by the start of the upcoming HS season. Not certain if he will enter HS this year or not and if so, if it will be at LM.

My bad, I thought CRP for some reason.

It will be a interesting year if he's around 90 on full feed.

How cone he quit? Was making 106 too brutal and nowhere to go with Bennet and Teske ahead of him? Onviously a solud wrestler

I think some other issues but that must be resolved now.

Both Ayala's, Teske, Bennett, Lockner and Lara. They have a couple other returning qualifiers too.

They should be a a tough matchup for SEP even with their Indianola "recruits".

Need those heavier weights to step up though.

That's the one thing they don't have in that area, is the top-notch big boys (same with football).

Once Indianola gets a few good big boys, the upper weights will improve for SEP.

They were strong in the upper weights in the earlier years of their program's emergence. They had Bass who won 4 state medals at 189+ along with a run of good HWTs including several champs, I believe.

CRTC paying dividends

Maybe... I'd say KD allowing Sebolt to establish another academy in the Clone room has been far more beneficial than the CRTC thus far imo. Smart move on their part (I just threw up in my mouth a little)

*edit* unless we're considering it all one in the same, then yes.
