Exactly how I thought this match would go. I'm sorry but I really hate Medaludis. Yes he got the lead and then stalled his way to the title. Won't miss him AT ALL!
Let's just count the number of Iowa's takedown's tonight. Right now, it's Iowa opponents 5: Iowa 0.
Not a single iowa wrestler is going to finish their tournament with a victory. Pathetic.
Clark wrestled great. got exactly what he needed just not able to pull it off.
Two matches, no takedowns for Iowa. Really that's what it comes down to despite any calls.

Walked right into the last double, and you could see it coming. But jfc Garret is good. Not much Clark could do.
Can't win if you don't shoot Cory. Easier said than done but I don't think he took one legit shot that match. Not going to beat his like Garrett counter wrestling.

Shouldn't the fourth stall warning be two points?! Doesn't it go warning, point, point, 2 points? Or did that change?
Easy to figure out the Finals, get a takedown and stall, wait for opponent to initiate and stall. The calls were a little late in the match to really affect the outcome. Garret was better, but the product seen on tv sucked.

No, because he backed out once and was holding below the hips on the other. It is flat out stalling per the rules.

Not really. One was for backing out, and the other was for hanging on below the waist for 5 seconds.
Penn State guy. They can't do that to Penn State wrestlers especially when the crowd is mostly pulling for them, except for Iowa fans.
Garrett to strong and athletic. I'm guessing that was the only close match he had all year.
1 stall = warning, 2 stall - 2 points , 3rd stall - DQ. THAT would get rid or mostly eliminate Stalling

Two of those were by rule; voluntarily going out of bounds and holding below the waist for a five count. All of them were stalls by eyeball.
I was thinking of the 3rd point then when it became 3-5. Just seemed quick. But if there gonna call it that way, I like it.
That display of stalling by Nico and unwillingness of the refs to call it, is why our sport is hard to watch.
