I sure wish I still had my '83 Citation with the hole in the floor boards still sitting around. CJ would look just about right in that.No way he's getting a Porsche. Maybe a vespa if he can stay healthy.

Don't belittle the Chevy Citation like that....I had a 81 X-11 dark blue with gold trim and it was one of my favorite cars. Shame on you.I sure wish I still had my '83 Citation with the hole in the floor boards still sitting around. CJ would look just about right in that.
Being from Covington Catholic, we can only hope none of his school officials found out about this, for a number of reasons. Poor, tortured soul.Yeah, the leg is awfully close to his vagina.
Brother, there is nothing more satisfying than 0-60 in 13 minutes! Near death experiences are also fun in such a sturdy, solid vehicle. I was living in Austin, MN temporarily for a few months right after college closing up a retail store. Didn't realize it until it was too late, but apparently I had been leaking brake fluid and was driving in a snow storm. Fortunately, the off-ramp I took was on an incline and the light at the top of it was green. I slowed down enough to be able to make the right turn and coasted into a gas station. Good times indeed!Don't belittle the Chevy Citation like that....I had a 81 X-11 dark blue with gold trim and it was one of my favorite cars. Shame on you.

And the mike drops...awesome post.Just a refresher. During the season there were reports that "Uncle Joe" had been discussing CJ taking his gym bag to Kentucky. Lots of smoke on this including Uncle Joe posting online about CJ transferring. Any talks between CJ or his people and another school would be a violation. CJ is of course injured and has surgery after the season. As they get ready to start practicing off season workouts Fran has a presser. He and CJ had just spoken and both were excited that he was close to 100% and had been cleared to resume workouts with the team. All was good. Just a day or so later came the news that CJ was entering the transfer portal. It's very obvious that FRan was totally blindsided. Go back and read any of the transcripts when Nunge or Moss left. Fran wished them well in their futures and thanked them for everything they had put into the program. So after CJ announced he was leaving, Frans comments were. Yes CJ is transferring, he's gone. Thats it! No good wishes, no thanks, just he's gone. Now remember Fran had ties to CJ's family. Uncle Joe starred at Notre Dame when Fran was an assistant there under Digger Phelps. I think Joe and Margeret were classmates. When CJ was in high school he had NO D1 offers to speak of. Uncle Joe put Fran onto CJ and he checked him out. Thought he would be a good fit. Now Iowa didn't have an open scholorship, so he told CJ if he would walk on , he would get him one the following year. Now somebody left, (and I'm not sure who it was) but he got the scholorship right away. Comes in and plays right away. He ends up as a soph with a starting spot but can't stay on the court. Fran gives him every chance to keep his spot whenever he is healthy enough to play. Fran wanted a bigger role for CJ and even chastised him for not shooting more and hunting his shot more. In the end we get the cloak and dagger, and Fran clearly has NO idea that CJ is about to hit the door. He enters the portal, and POOF he's picked up by Kentucky, even though everyone on his side swears they had no talks with the Calaperi, ( one of the truly classless liars and cheats in all of college basketball). So what do you believe? All the smoke about this during the season, and then bam he ends up at Kentucky, or it just happened? Really?
I agree completely, Hooper. If anyone knows how all of this works, it's you. Your opinion means a lot on the subject.I don’t begrudge CJ leaving. Players have the right to do what they feel is in their best interest. There is, however, a right and a wrong way to transfer and CJ chose the wrong way.
Good Luck Jack!
Christian Williams transferred out, opening the door for CJ to get the scholarship. And hope CJ’s uncle chokes on a meatball if you know what I mean.Just a refresher. The post was almost exactly right. However, CJ didn't play right away, he redshirted, but they did basically tell Moss he was going to sit behind CJ the next year, causing Moss to transfer to KU. Also not to be lost in this, is that CJ waited until after the first wave of transfers limiting who Iowa could go after to fill his position. I liked CJ's game and he did have the right to transfer but as another poster said, there is an adult way to do this.Christian Williams transferred out, opening the door for CJ to get the scholarship. I do believe CJ did have other offers out of HS
I hope he never plays again and gets into some kind of scandal that jeopardizes his NIL chances. No loyalty and how things played out with the way CJ left, he and Uncle Joe are both feces in my book.I wish Jack well. I do not care about CJ.
Nunge with 7 points and 4 rebounds so far. Also leads team in turnovers. Did not start. 7 minutes left.I wish Jack well. I do not care about CJ.
Because, I was correcting someone stupid enough to say he did not have offers out of high schoolWho fing cares at this point in time! It's a new season and redacted is playing for an SEC team. Time to move on to this season and not dwell on the past. I'm sure as he!! don't believe the coaching staff and players are making a point of bringing this subject up every day, Why in god's name is this subject so relevant that it has to be brought up on a daily basis. He was a good player that averaged 1.5 three point goals a game during last years season and was physically unreliable to play from game to game.
I for one believe that if he didn't want to be here, it's better that he left when he did, instead of playing at a school he was not happy being at and disrupting team chemistry and looking at Kentucky's roster, it probably won't be long until he or his uncle will also be just as unhappy there.
Why do you post about things you clearly don’t know anything about? It was well-publicized that Fredrick told Fran he was coming back.I just think fans overreact to everything. He's a 21 year old kid. What did he say to Fran that was a lie? What were his words? What guidance was he getting from the people advising him on this issue? You have no idea what all the details surrounding this were and yet you act like you were in the room. Do you think every kid in the portal has some feel-good heart to heart before he leaves. Pretty naive if you do.
That's exactly what I said. I don't really know anything about what happened. Neither do you. No one knows everything that went down and what was said leading up to the moment he left. All that was reported was that Fran was surprised. BFD. A 21 year old kid changed his mind. Maybe he wasn't clear about his intentions. WTF knows who was in his ear or what they were telling him. You ever talk to a 20 year old kid and wonder if you're getting a straight answer? There are exceptions to every rule but they aren't exactly known for being great communicators or good at having difficult conversations. Breaking up is hard to do. Even for fully formed adults. You sound like a jilted lover yourself. Get over it.Why do you post about things you clearly don’t know anything about? It was well-publicized that Fredrick told Fran he was coming back.
Our high school had Chevy Citations for drivers ed. Had to floor it to go 25 mph uphill. Top speed was 62 mph down a mine shaft with a tail wind .Don't belittle the Chevy Citation like that....I had a 81 X-11 dark blue with gold trim and it was one of my favorite cars. Shame on you.
The X-11 had a V-6, 4 speed manual transmission and did 0 to 60 under 12 seconds and had a top speed of 99 mph. It was a poor mans sports car but it seemed faster because it was lower to the ground. Our high school had Chevy Citations for drivers ed. Had to floor it to go 25 mph uphill. I remember when I was a kid I saw approximately 4000 of those every day. And chevettes. And then one day they all vanished never to be seen again. Seriously when was the last time any of you have seen any of them?I sure wish I still had my '83 Citation with the hole in the floor boards still sitting around. CJ would look just about right in that.
This is a VERY good question and something I have not thought about. I see the occasional old Caprice Classic around, but never a Citation or Chevette. My guess is they have all disintegrated considering the condition my '83 was in roundabout '91.I remember when I was a kid I saw approximately 4000 of those every day. And chevettes. Early in my marriage i was the owner of two Chevettes.☺This is a VERY good question and something I have not thought about. My niece totaled their Chevette coming out of a summer camp where she was working. Was my parents' car, I drove it a few time and noticed that the steering wheel was not centered to the driver's seat. Very weird car overall, no acceleration at all. Most were probably totaled by HS kids in the 80s and 90s. Guilty on the Caprice
Fantastic. Combined you could get to 60 in under 10 minutes!Early in my marriage i was the owner of two Chevettes.☺
Hmmm ... I wonder if I know your niece. Can you ballpark the year of the accident? My niece totaled their Chevette coming out of a summer camp where she was working.
