Confirmed ...vouchers were a handout to wealthy.

I can’t make sense of what you’re ranting about here.
But, I was probably laughing at your continued insistence that individual taxes can be directed or must equal benefits received. That’s not how it works and most people know that. But, maybe not you I guess.
Most people do. It's you and the proponents of this subsidy that refuse to acknowledge the fiscal idiocy of this sham.

Not sure how you can be confused when all of my posts point out that all Iowa tax payers contribute to funding education. Must be selective reading comprehension.

So you’re admitting you lied when you claimed it was “their money”. You knew even when you typed it that it wasn’t true. That’s some progress, I suppose. You’ll stop using that particular lie going forward…right?

Can you now admit that this is a scheme to divert tax dollars to some of the wealthiest individuals and private institutions in the state? You already know THAT’s true, as well.

I said that giving citizens a voucher or money to send their children to the parent's chosen school whether that school be private or public, seems like a good idea.

so you support requiring the parent’s chosen school to take their children?

I don't know what you're talking about.

No, it's not a 'scheme'. It's a way to provide additional education options for families.

No, I never said either of those things. I said that giving citizens a voucher or money to send their children to the parent's chosen school whether that school be private or public, seems like a good idea. Why should parents and taxpayers at large be required to support schools that don't educate their children?
THAT'S NOT HAPPENING!!!!!! The kids that you think aren't being educated won't be allowed in private schools. Why are you for socialism for the wealthy? You're pretty consistent in your thinking about that. We are literally telling you what this is all about and you just ignore it. Poor and minorities, and kids with special needs are not getting into these private schools. Barely any compared to whites. You know why? Private schools are raising their tuitions which keeps the undesirables out. This is NOTHING but a handout for people who can already afford it.

Now you and I are paying for these people's next car or the college education for their kids. It's a GRIFT!!

You can state this however you would like. The truth is that the vouchers have given parents more choices than they had before, which in the end, has to be a good thing.
NO they haven't. This is false no matter how many times Reynolds says it.

That is not true. There are already kids in new schools this year, that would not have otherwise been able to attend. New families making under 80k. Many of them minorities. I know it for a fact.

This is a lie.
No it isn't. You've been lying from the start on all of this, because you're grifting off of it. How many minority kids in poverty enrolled at Regina this year? If all of a sudden 200 minorities in poverty, in Davenport, try to get into St. Paul, they won't be getting in. You're not in education. Stop pretending you know things. You've been wrong from the start of this.

So a parent is guaranteed to get into the private school of their choice if they elect to use a voucher?

The answer is no. It's not the parent's choice, the school chooses who they want to accept.
I now see the left's new talking point, schools choose students not the other way around. I'm sorry, I don't watch CNN or MSNBC, is that the new buzz phrase?o_O

Safe to say I know a little bit more about private schools that you do. And, I know that many new minority families enrolled at Regina this year. Quite a few of them are religious hispanic families.

No you don't. 2135 students out of 483,699 went from public to private schools. You have no idea how many are minorities. You just make shit up.

Yeah, 138 new kids this year. More expected over the next couple of years as the restrictions are lifted.
If those public schools are so great in IC...then you should have nothing to worry about.

Do you deny that this is the case? That schools make the ultimate choice? If so, explain. If not, STFU.
I don't understand your point. Does every college public or private accept everyone that applies? Of course there are entrance requirements or they wouldn't be private schools. If your asking should private schools be able to discriminate, of course not. But not every juvenile delinquent should be allowed in either. Schools are designed to educate children. If schools are prevented from doing so by a few troublemakers than those problem children need to go elsewhere or clean-up their act. However if the students are qualified and motivated and the school has openings, anyone should be considered.

Aw long as there is room, the students qualify and the students behave as civilized individuals, yes.
So not parents choice

I will agree on your third point, as disruptive students should be removed from public classrooms imo

What do you do for a living so I can start telling you ignorant crap about your job? That's what you are doing here. It is COMMON SENSE that kids are not freely allowed into private schools. It's a fact.

Now do black families living in the southern part of town. Then do kids in poverty with IEPs. Nice try.

We're not talking about college. This is primary and secondary education. You guys try hard to change the parameters and still fail.

Pine claims 138 new students at Regina using the vouchers. How many of those were in public school last year? How many are minorities?

I said 'new students'. So, all 138 of them (from K-12). I don't know the exact numbers of minorities, but it was a significant amount.

Ahhh... So that number includes kindergarteners that would have gone to school there anyway. What is the size of a typical kindergarten class?

Significant. LOL

You're an ignorant rube.

You're an idiot and not worth my time.
I've answered yours and many other's questions. You keep crying about this law. And, you will continue to do so, because it's a done deal. And, the program is only going to get bigger and better in coming years.

You don't seem to know much even when you're being quoted. Interesting.

What will the income limit be when this is fully operational?

According to the certified enrollment numbers Regina Jr Sr High grew from 363 to 400 and the elementary school grew from 472 to 509. While that is a large increase in enrollment, it is 70 new students not 138.

Why do you hate the idea of poor people wanting a better education for their children?

Who decides if there's "room"? And what are the "qualifications"?
Please stop acting like a moron. Of course a school chooses who is qualified, but if a student is qualified and there is room, the school will gladly let the student in. Being from Havana, you may not be aware of this, but a private school needs money to survive so if a student wants to enroll, qualifies and can pay the tuition (thanks to waivers) then they will be admitted. I know in Cuba there are other considerations but in America we use merit and financial needs as our factors.
