Costco Travel?

I have heard it is they way to go but looking at their print brochure, it doesn’t look like the kind of travel I would appreciate (at least the European options).

Have any of you used Costco to book travel? Any success stories?

I have not but if you like group tours, Gate 1 Travel is the king.

My relative has been on a bunch of trips with them to Israel, India and they were all great and not expensive.

i have used them for domestic vacations. you can save a few bucks but main advantage is time savings by making all bookings hotel air theme park tickets etc on one website. i've had no issues. i wouldnt be surprised if other travel sites offer similar convenience.

I have a friend who used them to go to Riviera Maya, a group of 12 I believe. He said it was pretty inexpensive and no travel hassles or worries on their vacation.

TripAdvisor is littered with people complaining that they received the worst room at the hotel when booking through Costco travel.

Apparently they think that paying the least amount possible should get you the best room.

And forget your hotel loyalty program benefits. They're not honored if you book through a third party.

Their car rentals are nearly always the cheapest I can find, usually even beat work employee pricing.

Exactly. Great experiences. There must be a lot of really good discounts for the rental companies as I can rent a good midsize cheaper than 2 bikes per day at Daytona on the beach.

We use them for a lot. Very good. We get discounts and sometimes a Costco card after the trip. As others have said great for taking care of everything and time savings on top of cost savings.

I’ve used them the last 6 or so vacations and love em. Paris (5 star hotel) Mexico, you name it. It’s the first place I look at for travel

Got the flight, hotel, park tickets, and an extra bonus by booking through them. Great experience plus got the points through both the credit card and the executive membership.

Looked for a trip to Mexico for this spring. The packages they had all seemed to go to resorts that I was a bit leery of. Pictures looked good, but then we looked up reviews through other services and saw less than flattering comments. So we ended up booking a different way to a place that wasn’t available through Costco.

I've booked 3 or 4 so vacations to Mexico with Costco and have never had an issue. All great resorts. Safe, etc.

i don't believe you got/get the exec points coz those only show up when you buy in store or online store.

Usually book it and then cancel/rebook several times when I see the costs have gone down.
