Too many walks...was hoping Judkins woukd settle in after the 1st and it didn't happen.
2nd inning was big...really could have rattled Fisher with more runs. He really settled in after that.

Lots of unexpected issues arising in the office on the Friday before Memorial Day here . . . at least I had to turn the game off when it was 5-1.

I am really pulling for Baumann. He has the stuff to be a beast if he gets his command reigned in.
Who knows though maybe if we can find a way tonight we’ll just outscore someone.
For whatever reason this has been a super tough park on Iowa offensively the last two years. One extra base hit and that was Whelans leadoff double vs Indiana.
How about know when to take a pitch during the count? Work deeper in the count, pro-long the at bat, make pitcher work...
It started this morning..
Top of 2nd, 2 out, bases loaded, 3-1 count to Whelan...he hits a lazy fly ball to right center...
Heller should have had him take that pitch all the way....nothing wrong with full count...
Guarantee they would have tried to make Whelan chase next pitch....
Nebra laid off pitches all day...worked it to perfection...

Minnesota pitcher out there screaming like he is blowing it past people when bad offensive approach bailed him out.
Everyone gets excited to beat Iowa and keep them from moving up in the echelons of the Big Ten. (see Northwestern in other sports)
If you told me that Baumann and Davitt were going to hold any team to one run into the 8th I’d say there is a 99% chance Iowa wins.
Why does BTN keep talking like Iowa has a shot for an at large? Our RPI is awful despite our ten top 50 wins.
