Yikes. After that huge win on Wed vs #1 Indiana, we had 2 games today & in those 2 games we have scored a grand total of 1 run.
And I was worried we would run out of pitching today. I did not see this hitting slump coming...at all.
thats why the tournament needs to be moved to IndySame thing happened offensively in Omaha last year

Garbage call.
Umps just wanted to be done. It’s always fun getting jobbed when things matter
They showed the front side once and then showed the back side 3 more times.Anybody have a video of the questionable call at 1st base?
Is Iowa prepared by playing in Banks for the larger dimensions of TD Ameritrade?Same thing happened offensively in Omaha last year

When you compared both, the back side makes it look like a tie, and from the front you can't see when his foot touches, but adding both together, it is not guessing that his foot beat the catch.
He was safe.
Iowa didn't hit a lot of home runs this year did they?Banks

Iowa didn't hit a lot of home runs this year did they?
Also, where did they stand in conference for doubles?
As far as hitters go, the JUCO route would be a good place to look to fill those gaps, at least in the short term.Conference games only:
Batting average - Iowa 4th
Slugging - 8th
OBP - 5th
Runs - 6th
Doubles - 5th
Homers - 8th
Iowa was solidly middle of the pack offensive team in the league this year. Pitching was even worse. Iowa had a team ERA of 5.00 in conference games, good for 12th out of 13.
Team just wasn't good enough this year is what it comes down to. Overall was amazing they were in a good position before the late-season swoon. Key injuries (Padgett, Dreyer, Probst), losing 2 assistants one week before the season and losing the number of guys they did to the MLB draft last year caught up to them. Program is still in really good shape. They shouldn't lose much other than the seniors (although those losses are always hard). If they can find some more arms and 1-2 impact bats in the incoming class, they can be really good next year. Sher played well for a freshman, Fullard and Martin had really good years with their first time in Big 10 play.
