I've never seen someone make a layup easier than Caitlin Clark. It looks like she can do it in her sleep.

Depaul has been nailing threes, but the Hawks continue to just attack the paint.

I forgot DePaul has Jori Allen (previously IU) and Anaya Peoples (previously Notre Dame). Both very talented. DePaul did not collapse like I thought they would with the loss of Morrow.

Alright, I just started to watch the game and can't seem to get my hands on a box score / scoreboard online.

I'd appreciate if someone can tell me who started, first few off the bench, and who's really looked good so far and still need some work (recognizing it's one half of basketball and early).

TIA!

Can any one tell me what the marching band was drawing? I saw a 'car' that transformed into something else, but what??

Thanks for this conn53....

It's encouraging to see O'Grady with a double-double of 10 pts / 14 boards with Stuelke getting 12 pts and 3 assists but it certainly looked visually to me that we have a pretty big drop off down low from last year (no surprise there given Monica C and Warnock experience and talent). A very limited data set of only one half of hoops that I caught in an early exhibition game so certainly time to progress.

I thought Davis, Affolter, and McCabe looked good when they were out there. I'm surprised McCabe didn't get more PT based on this very limited exposure.

I was hoping Jada G was going to make a really big leap this year but from what I could tell she didn't get in until garbage time at the end. Again early and exhibition only but not a positive indicator if she barely played.

It'll be fun ride again this year!

I thought it was a great event overall, really nice PR for the WBB program and the university. Cool that the marching band was there. Also cool that they interviewed Gustafson & Doyle.

Very pleased to see that Goodman and Feuerbach were moving well. McCabe looked pretty smooth during her few minutes. We're going to have a lot of players who deserve more minutes than they're going to get.

I thought DePaul looked really good at times; if I lived in Chicago I'd be going to some of their games. Great that they agreed to come into an unusual and difficult environment.

I always have to remind myself that the first game of the season does not represent what the team will become. One quick thought is that we will play even faster with Stuelke and O’Grady in the lineup. I could imagine Clark having a few monster games with assists with those two racing down the court. She has the single game Iowa record with 18 assists.

You guys, it was fun. I was in row 73 and had no problem seeing. It was cold and windy but it's Kinnick.

Some fun stuff...
1- no stats were shown until half time. Par for the course for this tech department.
2- the women's announcer, I think Liberty Hawk, was great and engaging with the Kinnick PA.
3- not sure if posted but Megan Gustafson and Katherine Doyle were there. That was cool.
