No he was not. He's a bootlicker and FAR from standing up for anyone who believes in true conservative values. You have to look outside of anyone who still identifies as a republican. Those people have morals and courage. Any politician who still identifies as republican at this point has neither of those because trump wouldn't stand for it.

You know I have supported RDS and I am still glad he’s our Governor. But I thought his campaign was not a winning strategy and I’ve seen this coming.
His speech was a good one and now he comes home to govern for three years.
I’m still praying that we have a miracle between now and November with two new people on the ballot.
