That's close but still a bit higher than my understanding for last year. And it only applied to four returners so the total is quite a bit less than the $1.2M previously posted. I don't believe we paid to get players out of the portal for the 2023-2024 season. The landscape is fast moving so this year might have been quite a bit different.
There are 7 players on the roster in that pay range while the others receive more of a “base” pay coming in just above 1.5m this year.
Another 30 point game for Stirtz playing all 40 minutes.

MVC is essentially always a 1 bid league.
Drake can afford to have a lull as long as they are cooking again by Arch Madness. It was highly unlikely they were going to sustain the level of play they started the season with.
Tough loss and they really struggled, but the other team threw in at least 5 prayers. Drake also missed at least 7/8 layups. Just was not meant to win today.
Tough one to drop today. The scout on them is obviously out now so they’ll need to adjust. One thing that the last two games have shown is there is a noticeable lack of girth for these former D2 guys going against athletes who have had 3+ years of D1 strength and conditioning.

I was able to watch the second half while listening to the Hawks. Drake is disciplined, rebounds, and plays good defense. Not high scoring, but not boring either.
I would take McCollum as head coach at Iowa any day.
Stirtz continues to be absolutely amazing. Leads the league in PTS, Steals, and Assists.
Drake farting around with the ball late in the shot clock. Happened a couple of times now late, playing with their food. SMH.
Damn rock fight from start to finish. Fun environment though. Bradley was playing with hair on fire. Just a few too many missed FT’s for Drake.

Depends what your need is. DeVries can light it up but he can also go cold and is a bit slow of foot.
Stirtz is just a dude that makes things happen which you want out of your PG. Also pretty clutch with late buckets down the stretch. Today notwithstanding.
That’s how they play. Almost every possession goes the entire shot clock.
Both are very good but both are different players.
Tucker is a 3/4 and Stirtz is a 1/2. I will say last I checked, Stirtz was leading the conference in Pts, Ast, and steals...which is a pretty insane stat.
For those who haven’t had a chance to see Drake, they’re at UNI 1 vs 2 today on ESPN2. Stirtz having a day so far.
Hassell has a bunch of contacts in college bball world. He is all in on McCollum because of what other coaches say about him. His choice over DeVries.

Yup. Uni just drips money. They pay off the refs all the time.
I'm not saying they are paid. Simply that they are bad officials that are scared of the environment.
