Vandy's defense is smothering, they're quick and is bothering Drake but hanging tough though. Looks like Drake runs a lot of 5 out, pass and cut, etc. Some 4 out, 1 in it seems too. They move the ball pretty well, it's just that Vandy is jumping the passing lanes.
The pressure is clearing bothering Drake. Rebounding and their own intense defense is keeping them in it.
Something to watch for someone who hasn’t watched Drake yet is they very rarely take two point jumpers. Pretty much pass and cut, pass and cut, until a driving lane opens up for a layup or a 3 pointer is available. One of McC’s calling cards is offensive efficiency despite the slow pace.

Manywau is their center. Transfer from Wyoming. Usually in foul trouble but plays well when he can stay on the court.
Stirtz is their best player but Vandy is playing him tough tonight. NWMS transfer
Fair question but we’ll see how the rest of the season plays out. He was at NWMS a long time and he’s from Iowa. Maybe wants to stick around a bit.

Give Drake credit in their hiring process as it appears their last two BBall coaches are pretty darn good.
3 if you include the one year from Medved, who’s proved to be pretty good. And seamlessly moving on from Baranczyk for WBB. And their FB team is good for their level too.Hopefully Iowa city

Playing Drake rather than the sisters of the poor would have helped Iowa's RPI this year

Wow, very impressed w/ Drake and McCollum based on that tournament. These were not fluke wins against mediocre teams.
The thought he was waiting for the right opportunity to go to Drake because he's an Iowa / Midwest guy may have merit and work in Iowa's favor in the future. He certainly had multiple D1 opportunities with his success at NWMST. Someone to keep an eye on for sure.
