That kid had a hell of a 2023 so far. Won his first state title, won at the Night of Conflict, help team Iowa double up at cadet duals, won a age level national title in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco completing the USA Triple crown. Now a Junior at Don Bosco, I'm not sure there is anyone in the state of Iowa who's stock is higher than his. UNI got a good one.
Knaack has definitely ascended quickly. He is still just ranked #16 at 152 per Flo. As a recruit, he is on par with Dru Ayala. Deshaun Ross is the clear #1 guy in Iowa HS wrestling right now.

No offense to either, but they won't do much at the D1 level.

They are burned out and just committed to D-1 programs? I think when one is burned out you do what Jesuroga did.
No doubt about Ross. He has been on the radar since elementary school. I'm pretty sure Ross won the age level triple crown as well. I think this freashman class is going to be something special. I would not be surprised if it has multiple 4 timers in it.

Wrestling almost year round since pee wee is extremely demanding.
Knaack has accomplished more than Dru to date. Double Cadet Fargo Champ is legit. His offense is limited and he's always wrestled a physical bully your opponent style. Stays in good position and hand fights well. Think a worse version of Marinelli and PK. And I think most Iowa fans wouldn't mind a change in the middle weight guys they bring in as far as different body types, go to and consistent shots and finishes, and elite scrambling. Knaack is a D1 kid and the perfect recruit for UNI, not so much Iowa at this stage in his development.
I've heard that if you like an incoming recruit then you welcome them and hope they do well for your team. There is also a small group of jagoffs that get on opposing team's chatrooms and sometimes their own team's chatrooms and trash talk the incoming kids. If the second type of person describes you then please get a life and move on...nobody needs to hear that crap here and the incoming kids and their families will hardly embrace or encourage other recruits to enter that negative kind of environment .
He always struck me as great kid and the kind you want in and around your program. Congrats to him and Iowa.
