I think it is because of the time of year, i.e. November. Many, many more people have some sort of outerwear that is black than they do gold. So from there it is simple science.

Personally, I love the black out during a night game, just seems intimidating. I'm also a big fan of the stripes and agree that recruits love that type of stuff that shows how much the fans are into the atmosphere.

I think there are only two 'color' games this year. This week vs. ISU and the blackout v. Michigan.

I'm sorry, if you don't think one of these is more impressive to potential recruits than the other then I don't know what to tell you. And this is coming from someone who hates the Oregons of the world and most Nike Pro Combat uniforms.
