ESPN Bracketology, Updated MARCH 13. IOWA is a 5 Seed in CHICAGO Regional. Bracket Matrix on MARCH 13 has IOWA a 5 Seed. #14 NET Ranking on March 13

It’s good these boys are starting to lineup with The Truth’s Bracketology with Iowa at 9. I was a little iffy about it a few weeks ago but now I firmly believe that Iowa is in with a 4-4 finish unless the lose to Nebraska at home. Let’s hope we keep playing well and jump all the way to a 7.

I would take a 7 right now, please

I think 3 more wins secures a ticket to the big dance, anything above that helps seeding

That’s extremely optimistic considering Iowa only wins 33% of its road games in Fran’s tenure. Iowa is 3-5 so far on the road this season, if they can win 1 (Looking at Nebraska) that puts them at 4-8 which is 33% on the season. At home Iowa wins just under 80%, so far they are 13-2, it would be a tall task to beat both Michigan schools even in Carver. If Iowa wins 2 of the 3 remaining home games that puts them at 83% for the season.

So 3 more wins would be par for the course and it locks them into the NCAA, winning 4 more before the BTT would exceed expectations and really help their seeding.

Lunardi will have his full updated bracket tomorrow. Here is where things stand right now.

As you can see,

* Michigan (FIRST 4 OUT) is squarely on the Bubble and looking to steal a win at Iowa on Thurs
* Rutgers is part of the NEXT 4 OUT.... @MrsScrew
* IOWA STATE is one of the LAST 4 IN

Beating Michigan at home 3 days from now is really important, especially since we have to play at Michigan yet, too.

I just have a hunch, at minimum, we sweep our remaining 3 home games and beat Nebby on the road to finish the regular season 21-10, 11-9.

Key stretch coming up: 3 games in 6 days.

@MrsScrew , you guys gonna make the Big Dance? ;)

hoping and praying we do.

Thru the end of the month we have #11 Illinios & #14 Wisconsin at home, #3 Purdue away, We also have Michigan and Indiana away and finish the season with psu at home at the RAC, er, I mean Jersey Mike's Arena where Jersey Mike's is still not able to be sold.

We all know what will happen if we land on the 8-9 line. We will manage to win the first game and then get (over)matched up with a one seed and lose that game. Then we get to hear how McCaffery can't make the Sweet Sixteen for the next year or so. This, even though we had no expectations of even making the tournament when the season started, being picked to finish 9th/10th in the conference.

Rutgers got 10 votes in the AP poll, putting us at 34th. I'll take it.

Looks like Rutgers has moved up to first 4 out........... We need to get 3 more wins out of the next 6 games

Shelby Mast is the Bracketologist for USA Today. His projections are based on how he thinks the committee will make their selections, not how he would want to make them, if the season ended TODAY.

On his website he brags that he is one of the most accurate Bracketologists with 15+ years experience and a 98% accuracy rate since 2005.

His bracket was last updated before the Super Bowl, Feb 13, 2022, 5:20 PM CT.

The same 7 B1G teams continue to show up. In addition, Rutgers, as you can see below, is part of the First 4 OUT. Michigan is part of the NEXT 4 OUT. @MrsScrew

He has #10 IOWA vs #7 UConn; the winner would play the winner of #2 Duke vs #15 Appalachian State. @Hawksfor3

The 7 B1G teams that he has in:

Seed/Team:
2 Purdue
3 Wisconsin
4 Illinois
4 Michigan State
5 Ohio State
10 IOWA
10 Indiana

Last 4 IN - San Francisco, Belmont, Creighton, SMU

First 4 OUT - Memphis, Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia

Next 4 OUT - San Diego State, Michigan, Kansas State, VCU

Most likely and worst case scenarios are dead on. I think the best case scenario is 2-2 on road and 3-0 at home. Granted beating Michigan State at home isn't likely but it's possible, Izzo does such a good job working over the officials that it almost neutralizes the home court advantage. Iowa really could use a big win for it's resume.
