The "my conference is tougher" argument is stupid. Even if one conference was clearly stronger than another, that doesn't translate into one team being good. (Iowa under Lickliter sucked no matter how good the B1G was or wasn't back then. i.e)

I'd agree with you as I was just trying to figure out what was being argued here.
The original thread suggestion was that Iowa St's path to the Sweet 16 was easy, but as a poster already commented, based on the sum of the seeds each team played.....about every other team (not including Gonzaga) played roughly the same amount of competition.
Let's be honest, the ACC appears to be the best conference right now with their depth in the NCAA tourney. After that....do we really need to argue about who's #2?

Perhaps, but if Iowa State ends up in the Final Four, who cares? Nobody is going to remember ten years from now who Iowa State faced to get there. All anyone will remember is that they were there. Besides, it's not like they were beating their first two opponents by a couple points or at the buzzer.

Oh no Herky. 2 Texas Ten teams are in the Elite 8 with one still alive. Have you figured out how to spin this yet? I know you'll come up with something, but it will likely be similar to my 7 year old nephew's arguments. Sneaking suspicion that the clowns will still be douches.
I personally still don't think that tournament performance should be weighted more heavily than the cumulative performance of the season. What do you think now?

Well I haven't gotten much floor time in practice the last couple of days so I doubt my state of mind will have much of an impact on the game.

I can think of one particular Herk fan who always talks about going over to Cyclone Fanatic. I personally don't spend any time there myself. And I wouldn't visit this site if it weren't free. Probably the same for Hawk fans if there was still a free site on Cyclone Illustrated.

2. isu grads are always touting isu's bogus SOS and the tourney for the last 6 years has proved that the Texas Ten SOS was bogus.
3. I never said the Big Ten was better than the Texas Ten. I did say the ACC is proving to be the best conference.
4. Posting about the yearly incidents that show isu has a culture of douches isn't degrading isu it is stating facts. Apparently if we don't ignore them isu grad gets all pissy.

I root for Iowa State as well. Threads like this are pathetic, especially after having arguably the biggest collapse of a season in college basketball this year.

I'm with you on this, I can't root for msu, Indiana, or Wisconsin. I could give two shits about conference strength. When people argue that, it means their team isn't any good.
