What do you have?!? Did you know that this years 2016 graduating HS class was not even alive the last time Nebby one a major bowl in 1997 and were 2 years old when Nebby last one a conference championship....that's how relevant you have been in these seniors lifetime

Rusillo and those national talk show guy will only be thinking big picture, as in "is Iowa a legit CFB Playoff contender?"....
Nobody really should be talking about that right now. That's not even on Iowa's radar yet. We have a good idea of what Iowa is and how high the ceiling potentially could be for this year's team. The only thing they can do is go out and compete against the teams in front of them, even if Iowa ends up against a much stronger opponent playing at their best (and most of us are probably thinking of Ohio State version:59-0 over Wisconsin in the BTCG......)
But who is to say Ohio State will even play that well again this year...or even make that game for that matter (if certain trends continue....)?

The victories are always sweeter when nobody expects you to win (the people who weren't completely down on the team before the season began are sure enjoying it a little more than normal i would imagine).
I will start worrying about Iowa football when the expectations are great and the ESPN talking heads and such predict Iowa to win...thats when there seems to be the most disappointment by the end of the season.

I don't receive those stations well, so I can't directly refute it. Sounds like BS, though, given that 1480 is very aware of the situation. I haven't even heard the words 'national title' outside of a reference to 97 and prior this year at all. I see one listener considers your claims to be garbage. Anyone else? Cincy who is 0-2 in the American Conference is beating BYU (Nebby lost to) 17-3 now.....I will keep updates coming....I don't think it is on any of the AM stations in Nebby

I live in Omaha as well and can't believe the delusional Sportcasters and fans I have encountered in the 35 yrs I have lived here. I have actually had people tell me that Nebraska is going to dominate the B10. Every year that passes and they don't, I remind them this isnt the B8 or B12. If they lost every game for the rest of eternity it would be 1 loss short if making me happy.

This Iowa team is pretty special, I thought we'd lose by 3 or so, instead the Hawks beat another ranked team on the road, with a gimpy QB, the third and fourth string RBs and multiple first teamers out with injuries.
