Face it you heathens... the Bible is VERIFIABLE HISTORY

If you understand what Christianity is all about (appears you don’t), the book is not the source. It certainly helps since it is the living word of God. But God and the Holy Spirit are the real source. Surrendering to the will of the Father is the only source of good. Our own hearts and flesh are sinful and deceive us.
Wow...without that book there is no Christian God nor any "holy spirit". Or are you claiming that you can "understand what Christianity is all about" without any knowledge of the Bible? I'll tell you again to think longer before you post because this appears to be more nonsense.

John 1:1 - “In the beginning was the word…”

The book certainly helps but keep in mind Christianity exploded before the NT became canon. The book is the singular tool but it’s not the source friend.

Absolutely right. Tarheel thinks religion (and singles out Christianity) is like a pill. You take it and all problems should disappear. But the Bible explicitly teaches otherwise. Tar likes to criticize that which he does not understand. It’s a shame.
I single out Christianity because it's the religion trying to insert itself into every aspect of our lives in this country and I have the freedom to speak against that. And it's actually the religionists who treat their beliefs like a pill - swallow it and there's an answer for everything and when there's no answer...just attribute it to some "plan". Which, of course, has it's own very serious problems.

So now you're claiming that the oral tradition would have carried Christianity to the present day with no written record?

You should take a trip to Syria and see which religion is trying to insert itself into every aspect of life.

Pull your head out of your ass and look at the bigger picture. Obviously, some Christians hurt you but don’t generalize friend. 90% of us are just trying our best to mirror Jesus. But we ain’t Jesus and we will never be Jesus. So you gotta lower those expectations.

Remember, somewhere in Nigeria or Syria or Sudan or Chad or Kenya tonight there is another TarHeel who just wants to do their own thing but is having Islam slit across their throat.

Going back to the topic, my point is that the Bible doesn't teach that Christians should kill each other.
Of course it doesn't. But Christians pull their own morality from it and that CAN include killing others. Like I said - we all make our own morality and good or evil can come from anywhere. Even the Good Book.

I have no use for Islam, either. But there are plenty of Muslims whose lives "mirror Jesus". And no Christians hurt me...quit trying to psychoanalyze my distaste for mainstream Christianity. You want to be a good Christian? Live your life as close to Jesus as possible. Live a life of service and sacrifice. Worship in whatever way you like within the limits of the law. And extend that same courtesy to everyone else. Pretty simple.

This article may interest you:

Thanks for that! There's a whole lot in that article that aligns with how I try to do life.

I know I've done bad things, but I try pretty hard to log as many good things as I can. Hopefully it balances out in my favor in the end (if there's something at the end, which i hope there is).

All you gotta do is Confession and Mass once a week and you're getting eternal bliss. :)

You’re having a hard time admitting there are good Christians out there. 2 Billion of us and growing. Do you sincerely think we are all bad?

WTF are you talking about? Now you're just making crap up. You couldn't even infer that from anything I've posted. A great Christian just died and lots of Christians went nuts because he had Imagine played at his funeral. Same religion...same book...wildly different moralities.

So how many of us do you think are bad and how many good? 50/50? 90/10? Come on and call your shot.

I have no idea nor do I remotely care. I have no idea why you think that's even relevant, but you've posted quite a bit of nonsense in this thread and then ignored it when it was called out. You can practice whatever religion you like - again, within the confines of the law. Leave everyone else alone to do the same according to their own conscience. Why is that so difficult for you?

Your disdain for Christians is more than apparent. It’s pretty clear you think a lot of us are bad. That’s relevant to the conversation.

What are the resident Christians opinion on Ron L. Hubbard?

I went on a tour of the Scientology Center in Washington D.C. in 2008. It's in a fancy building.

It got weird lol. The guide told me they could set me up to a machine and my soul would leave my body and I could watch.

I declined.

I think I might find a golden toilet and start my own religion. Nobody uses tablets anymore

It is not disdain for Christians. My disdain extends to all organized religions. As far as individuals are concerned, I’ve made myself clear several times now…you just fail at comprehension. You’re free to worship or whatever you want to call it in any way you like - within the confines of the law. Extend that courtesy to everyone else. Why do you not understand that?

You realize one key tenet of my faith is to share and spread the gospel. Does that conflict with your interpretation of the 1st Amendment?

Noticed you only named the Christian charlatans. There are also many non-Christian charlatans, don’t forget them too since you said you have disdain for all religions!

Americans only judge Christians by their worst members.

For example, for every 1 pedophile priest, there are 100 good ones but that's not the focus of our culture.

You want to spread it? Live it. And clean up your own house first before you come to mine. Identify those misusing YOUR faith and address them before you try to convert anyone else. When I see Osteen out there ministering to the poor and opening his house to the dispossessed, I’ll have a lot more “faith” in his - and your -religion.
