5 years ago or so I went up to Olympic National Park in Washington. The coastline up there was some of my favorite. So moody.

@Hoosierhawkeye Thinking about doing a trip somewhere along the east side of Lake Michigan this summer. St. Joseph, Holland, South Haven all look great. Any input on a trip there?Lions park beach, St. Joseph, MI

Stunning. I didn't believe in a higher power until I saw this.
If you live in the Midwest and are on a budget, I recommend checking out Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
It is tongue-and-cheek referred to as the "Malibu of the Midwest" - and while obviously that is massive hyberbole, for being in Wisconsin, it does have a couple very nice beaches and there is quite a bit to do in the area. We took a long weekend trip there last summer and loved it.

Siesta Beach, Siesta Key…near Sarasota, FL is the largest beach I’ve ever seen.5 years ago or so I went up to Olympic National Park in Washington. The coastline up there was some of my favorite. So moody.

We’ve spent a lot of time at this beach. Stayed at sunset vistas many times. Not the nicest place but perfect for a family. Tons of good memories here.Treasure Island, FL. I live in T.I. so I’m biased but I can’t think of any other beach I’d rather sit and just chill to the calm sounds of ocean waves. Plus no open container laws in T.I.😎
I'm not going to lie that looks kind of amazing.Eagle Beach in Aruba.
Where sand, meets mud, meets muddy farm runoff water. Can't believe none of the Hawkeye fans have nominated "The Rez"

Grayton Beach is pretty sweet....When not suffering from June grass or sargassum, the gulf coast between Pensacola and Panama City beach are pretty sweet, and easy for me to get to. Never been east of PCB, but the pictures look nice. Biggest complaint about PCB is they’ve done a poor job managing development, so you see a wall of 30 story condos when you look down the beach. Alabama beaches are slightly less developed but closer to the Mississippi River, so the water can be more turbid at times.
Been to Maui once. Wasn’t terribly impressed with their beaches, but I enjoyed the overall “exoticness” of the place.

It depends on what you are using the beach for.
My favorite completely secluded beach where you will be either by yourself as far as you can see or at most a handful of other people is the “Secret” Red Beach at Hana on Maui. It’s an ordeal just to get there as the locals will not give directions and it’s a pretty dangerous hike.
My second favorite mostly secluded beach is Cumberland Island off of St Mary’s Georgia. It’s got tons of wild horses all over the island including the beaches. Plus more than one antebellum plantation ruin to explore.
My favorite beach that’s peaceful and restful with only a little attendance but lots to do is Grayton Beach State Park in the 30A section of panhandle Florida. It’s got beautiful pure white sugar sand (technically better than white, it’s actually crystal clear under a microscope which means it doesn’t absorb light and get hot burning your feet like the white ground coral sand beaches in the Caribbean) and high dunes surrounding some of the only freshwater dune lakes in the world.
My backup beach for semisecluded beaches but not completely alone is St George Island State Park relatively nearby Tallahassee. It’s essentially similar to Grayton without the dune lakes but is closer to my house.
And my favorite crowded beach is the golden sand sands of Bondi Beach just outside of Sydney Australia. Unique sand, beautiful Aussie girls in bikinis, cliffs surrounding it and great fish and chips restaurants in easy walking distance.
There’s not really a close runner up to Bondi for best crowded beach imo. Maybe Clearwater or Destin in Florida.
