I think we all know the answer, but what kind of a lawyer let's Trump dictate a statement like that and puts their name on it? It's like something scrawled out in red crayon, the color of crayon that you use when you are the angriest at how unfairly you've been treated by your 13 year old sister.

I don’t believe these reports. A dress rehearsal seems to organized and competent for anything Trump does. He’s more of a half assed kind of guy.
Let's say that Jack Smith pushes forward. Does he make the decision on indictments, or just recommend through a report? Let's say he does that in June, then DoJ has multiple teams of career officials look at the evidence, the law, and what? Charges by October? A trial cannot be held while Trump is the GOP candidate for the WH, right? The logistics would be amazing, and how do you get an impartial jury at that time with the incredible media / Trump generated hype?

I think Trump would have to be indicted by a Grand Jury, but I could be wrong about that. There is absolutely no reason why Trump can't be charged criminally and stand trial at any time, including while he's campaigning, or even after being elected. Only civil suits can be put on hold while someone is serving as POTUS. I'm not sure why there haven't been charges brought. Santos was charged fairly quickly.
It's nice that Trump is using the money of his rube supporters to pay the legal fees of his underlings. Very magnanimous of him.
Smith just needs one or two of them to decide they don't want to go to prison, and to tell the truth. The Feds have people who can figure out if security footage was tampered with.
