The Hawkeye streak of having at least 1 wrestler in the Finals next year will be resting on the shoulders of Real Woods and Big Tony. Who else do you think may have a legitimate chance at the finals besides those Two guys ? I just think we need some optimism and hopefully we can get some upsets and somebody emerges as the dark-horse who has that "Amazing run " at Nationals and surprises us all.

Ayala and Chittum can absolutely make the finals. Another dark horse finalist is Nelson. I wouldn’t pick it, but there’s a theoretical chance of it. He’s the 4th highest returner at the weight. Lewis is always an injury chance and he’s already contemplated quitting the sport twice. May not be super motivated.

I think it’s more likely we have two finalists than zero. Woods is the favorite at 141. I also find it hard to believe one of Ayala, Chittum, and Cass don’t make it. I put the O/U at 1.5 and I’m taking the over.

well lets get them signed before we miss the parade and God forbid they end up elsewhere... That statement should really fire up the trolls and haters.... hahaha
Exactly. I noticed Anthony took the "Iowa Hawkeye wrestling" out of his bio and unpinned his commitment tweet and the picture of him with Terry - all while Angelo was visiting Rutgers. With our luck, probably lost both him and Angelo to Rutgers.

Not a good sign if someone takes the time to do that. 184 would be on red alert and 197 not much better shape.

I would say we will keep getting further behind looking at the 2024 Big Board recruits

What a bum that Cole Mirasola guy is. I’m surprised they even let him in the door at Psu. He must have gotten little to no money. You gotta feel bad for psu not being able to land all top 10 pfp guys. The ole Crailure magic must be wearing off.

In all seriousness. This ain’t awesome for Iowa fans.

Centuries ago, well before Hawkeye report, the Flagellants were a spectacle in Europe as they whipped themselves bloody for some reasons. Something to do with Christianity or the Black Plague or whatever. Neuroarchaeologists believe that this practice continues today taking root in sports fans that bitch themselves silly complaining about their team. Usually about recruiting, draft picks, coaches, referees - anything really. That's all.

Thanks for the update on something that has been well known for weeks and discussed ad nauseam at that time.

This is where we're getting slaughtered. We've got to get our house in order and go on a good run every few years before we can convince the youngsters that Iowa is where they need to be. We have an incredible history, an incredible fan base, and the 2nd best coach in the country, but we really have to get it together on the recruiting front and I don't just mean as compared to Penn State. IMHO we should do just as well recruiting as schools not named PSU, and just as good as PSU much of time. I'm interested to see if tOSU is going to be able to put together a run with all of the talent they've recruited the past couple years. In the end I'm just really curious to see who we dress next season...seems to be so much uncertainty.
