Pretty much agree with all of this. I was poking at those folks who evaluate players based on their last game or two, without looking at the big picture. JoeT was on the crap list heading into the Mary Land game, and now he is all-B1G... I am glad we have both JoeT and Ulis, and adding Dix, Iowa should be loaded next year at PG for the first time in a long time.

Fran has been especially hard on JoeT, and at times seems to bury him on the bench, after he takes him out. I also don't understand most of the time. My theory is that Fran likes Ulis and Perkins together, and they have been an especially effective combo on the defensive end. I think Connor plays when they need to guard some size, but still want a ball handler. The four guards can't guard an interior player, while Connor can. Personally, I would like to see Fran turn Ulis, Perkins and JoeT loose together on defense in spurts, to see how the opponent handles the pressure...

I don't know what is going on with Kris right now, but we need him back in sync tomorrow in Madison.

I believe Dix will be SG. Perkins should start and play most minutes with Dix subbing in. Bowen is probably who you were thinking of. Not sure how they'll incorporate him in with Ulis and Joe.

Yep, I meant to say Bowen, not Dix, as the third PG.

We’re going to have a senior and junior PG next year in Toussaint and Ulis. Short of Bowen being the second coming, I hope that any minutes he logs are alongside either Ulis or Toussaint, who should be getting 20 and 30 minutes apiece next season. Let the better of Dix and Bowen back up Perkins at the 2, and the other redshirt

Must be working, Iowa is 141 in defensive rating on KenPom. Connor is providing a lot of value there.

There really is little reason why Connor plays other than Fran has his favorites and it is his son

Yeah either/or. I’d like to see Ulis start to look for his shot a little bit more. He seems to create good looks decently well

Did we really just let Wisconsin who is averaging 70 ppg and traditionally plays slow D drop almost 90 points on us? And rebound us by 20 when they are actually one of the worst rebounding teams outside of us in the league?

JFC I know we are a great offensive team and some things didn’t go our way but what the F are we doing on D and rebounding. Fran again with his absolute shit lineups. 9-0 run 3:30 left lead cut it to 13, keep Kris, Tony, Joe, Ulis all of em out of the lineup playing our worst defenders - OH DONT WORRY CONNOR IS OUT THERE CONNECTING THE DEFENSE! Smdh I thought Pmac was good in the first half, Joe T and Kris were great with very little opportunity and no fluidity whatsoever to frans lineups he just freaking switches people out randomly. Man this game was rough

Kevin Boyle played in 29 games his senior year. That last year he shot below 50% at the line. I remember fans giving Lute on his call-in show all sorts of tips to help Boyle, which I'm sure Lute just loved. Michael Payne joined Boyle as a Hawkeye who saw his scoring average decrease every season of his career.

He never shot less than 70% from the free throw line. Between 75 and 81% for 3 years.
