didn’t you see him raise his hand to call the fall and then put it back down?He called the pin right in Spencer’s match.

Well he's a bit olderSpencer's first match in Carver lasted all of 46 seconds. Yesterday? 51 seconds. Just sort of weird.
BTN+ replay 2/19Any video posted or Spencer’s match anywhere?
I don't think it was there, it was close. I think he got it right too based on my view.didn’t you see him raise his hand to call the fall and then put it back down?
Here's a good one for you @hawkaeg80. Low scoring but great tactical match. True Freshman Lee Vs Senior Tomato at Ohio State. Buc fans were in shock! 🤣Spencer's first match in Carver lasted all of 46 seconds. Yesterday? 51 seconds. Just sort of weird.
That's what I thought. I even let out a cheer.didn’t you see him raise his hand to call the fall and then put it back down?
Once they raise it then it’s a fall, the slap of the mat let’s the wrestlers know. That’s why a good ref looks away when they raise their hand.I don't think it was there, it was close. I think he got it right too based on my view.
All good, he got the pin. That's what matters, now if he wouldn't have got it later I'd be right there with you. 🤣🤣Once they raise it then it’s a fall, the slap of the mat let’s the wrestlers know. That’s why a good ref looks away when they raise their hand.
When I was at the meet I thought he was stuck before it was called. When I watched the replay at home it changed my mind.didn’t you see him raise his hand to call the fall and then put it back down?

Love this one too, Mato vs Lee NCAA semis.
Lee owned him and never looked back. Destroyed him at the Nationals in Freestyle after this.
Post more.Would have been faster but Angel was down there with his Inspector Clouseau magnifying glass

That was a very well-executed cow catcher against one of the greatest college wrestlers of all time. I’d estimate that about 90% of 125’s in Spencer’s position would have gotten stuck and 0% outside of Spencer would have turned it into a fall of his own. The amazingly quick reaction time by Spencer to hip over in mid-air and land in a pinning position was nothing short of incredible.(usual preface of me never having wrestled..)
Was there a split second where Lee thought he might be in trouble there? (or actually be in trouble?)
Would a mere mortal wrestler be in trouble in that position?
I got a little nervous, but maybe spencer knew what he was going to do as soon as Wit had that hold...

I think outsiders (non-Iowa fans) sometimes want to believe that Spencer just happens to be really good at tilts and bars and that otherwise he isn’t all that special a wrestler. The truth is that this kid is just so dang good at tilts and bars that he rarely needs to do much more. When he has to focus on takedowns, he’s outstanding on his feet. When he has to scramble, he’s far and away the best at 125. When he has to react to a rapid-fire pinning hold from neutral, he does so naturally without even thinking.
This kid has almost super-human body control, spatial awareness, strength, and mat IQ. The sport comes so naturally to him that he never really needs to think much out there — he just lets his instincts take over.
Watch closely, wrestling fans — we’re witnessing something extremely special. I’ve never seen anyone better at the college level. Kid is the definition of a unicorn.
