We lose no matter what tonight but my goodness Wisconsin couldn’t miss a shot.

Other random thoughts:

- I hate Wisconsin.
- Davison is a POS.
- Keegan as always was great but the team needs to target him even more. He’s so much better than anyone else.
- I hate Wisconsin.
- JT was pretty good tonight. Much better than Perkins and Ulis.
- I hate Wisconsin.
- Ribraca just doesn’t do it for me. Give Josh O more minutes. Not saying don’t play or start Ribraca but Josh should get a few minutes here and there.
- I still support Fran and hope we can be a tourney team.
- I hate Wisconsin.

Yes to all of that, and add a few more "I hate Wisconsin".

I think Mulvey is going to pass Ogundele shortly if he hasn’t already. He contests shots very well and has better hands to grab rebounds and passes. Ogundele is more athletic and the better defender away from the hoop. I think Mulvey needs to start logging minutes if we ever hope to solve any of our rebounding issues

Fran while watching our defense and Rebounding...

Anyone think that Fran is getting the most out of the talent on this team? 3rd year with a top player in the nation.... So there's that.

Forgot to add another point, our rebounding is frustrating as just about anything I’ve ever seen. If Mulvey can help then play him, but I don’t know what can help our rebounding at this point.

Six points and 4 assists. Shot 60% FG, even with that brick 3. And then he's gone.
What scares me is that Bohannon switched over to PG late and made some threes. If that becomes a thing again, I may change my stance on McCaffery - which is supportive, despite his substitution patterns

Chucky Hepburn played 31 minutes tonight as a freshman. Why can’t we get that from Toussaint? Even 25, then the remainder to Ulis?

We suck at rebounding because Rebraca is a small below average rebounder at the 5 spot.

Normally if you had a 6'9 3 man it would make up for that but unfortunately Iowas 6'9 3 man has no interest in rebounding.

What would help is those 2 playing less.

You play Mulvey/JoshO you upgrade rebounding with their size/length. You have guys that can actually
contest in post without requirig double team. They can help on the dribble drive penetration.

JBO needs to be off the court...bit minutes. His defense/rebounding is too poor at 2nd G.

Iowa has to play man defense. Your ability to grab defensive rebounds drops from say 75-80% in man defense to 60-65% in zone....

I had the same thought.

Bohannon brings nothing at the 2.

As soon as he started bringing the ball up he was able to do what he used to. Granted the game was over.

We've seen that for years and it ultimately doesn't work but Fran may not be able to help himself.

Yeah…becoming obvious he needs to be on the floor as much as possible. And be more aggressive trying to score. He may only be 6’ but he’s quick enough to free himself up for a shot at any time. We need that desperately

He's really developed his pull up jumper too.

I'm just tired of playing a 3point specialist SOOO many minutes, who doesn't get open looks for 3 and plays terrible defense. We have young players that bring high energy on D and threats to penetrate on Offense.

The Murray twins are sufficient 3point threats to spread the damn floor.

I’ve been saying that Bohannon needs to come off the bench and play about 15 minutes a game against other teams’ backups, where he will almost undoubtedly thrive. Come in and chuck for all I care. Another thing that won’t ever happen

Last year was more frustrating, with two NBA draft picks, including POY, getting blown out in round of 32 by a team that then got blown out in Sweet 16.

This season, Iowa is unlikely to make the NCAA tournament with an NBA top-ten pick who is playing great.

Fran will end up being one of the only coaches at a Power 5 conference school in the 21st century to coach 15 plus years at the same school, and never win a conference title nor make a Sweet 16.

I have accepted that Fran will be allowed to coach at Iowa until his 9th grade son finishes at Iowa. At least 7 more years. Not hard to tune out on occasion given the situation.

That's our story every loss. The other team couldn't miss a shot.
Why?
Fran needs to go.
He sucks.
He is not the answer.

it is flat out amazing how many times after a loss (and sometimes even after a win) we read posters here saying “well they couldn’t miss tonight”…

after seeing it so often, there’s indeed only one conclusion…

I don't think PMAC has a position.

Sticking a 6'9 guy at the 3 is is what we went through when Fran tried to play Whitey and Uthoff (and even Nunge) at the 3...those guys couldn't defend perimeter playersvery well in man and we ended up having to zone. All those guys were at least above average rebounders....PMAC doesn't block shots like Uthoff did nor rebound very well and he seems to back away from mixing it up inside.

Uthoff and Whitey ultimately had their best years at PF....unfortuately, I don't think PMAC is willing to compete inside and rebound like you need for a PF.

CMAC doesn't have a position because he has perimeter player size but no perimeter shooting/dribble drive skills

JBO doesn't have a position because he can't defend and his offense is best suited for him having the ball in his hands as a PG instead of running off screens. Unless the opposing team forgets to guard him,

Well we need a 3pt specialist, fran is just playing the wrong one. At this point sandfort should be playing more. He looks the part, moves well without the ball, good size, solid defense. Just needs minutes to settle in. To me that’s what’s the most frustrating part, i feel like we have good pieces this year but Fran just cannot figure out how to put them together. He has always struggled to push the right buttons at the right times IMO

However Jack is supposed to be a shooter. Hopefuly he is mix of CMAC and PMAC.

I absolutely think we have pieces to do better than we are. I also don't know if we need a 3 point "specialist". Kris has a pretty dang good stroke and can do MUCH more, just needs more minutes. I'm good with trying to get Sandfort some minutes, but Kris needs more.
