Is it time we throw the kitchen sink at him? Need him more than ever with Mejia yet again out of the picture

I think the problem is that Teske and Lee are both likely to be at 125 for there whole college career. We could get use the red shirts and an Olympic red shirt to get 6 years of varsity competition between the two of them. We could also pray for one of them to grow. Regardless I think we need this great in state recruit in our room.

Both Lee or Teske could have success at 133. I am sure many people probably thought that Clark & Ramos were career 125lbers.

There were. There isn't a person alive who can accurately predict the weights of 17 year olds over the next 5 years.
This is definitely true, but it doesn't mean you don't try. The title of this thread is "full court press," and with only limited resources, I don't think you put the full court press on a kid that projects at the same weight as your #1 p4p 3 time world champion prized recruit.

Recruit him, yes. Full court press to me means you pull out all the stops to get him and I just can't see those kinds of resources being spent on another 125er.

Who projects him there? Or Lee as a career 125? Every wrestling fan in America? The Iowa coaches? That's more what I was getting at.

I still think Lee will settle in at 133. In 1-2 of those tweets coming from the room (albeit just group photos) he looks big.

It could end up much like Gilman and Clark. I think when we recruited those two we knew one would go to 133. I would be more than happy to have them both. Teske by genetics will likely stay small. Maybe Spencer can grow into 133 after a redshirt but I don't know that that was the plan? Maybe it is?

I want to echo I am all in for Teske to Iowa. I just hope we utilize the scholarship dollars effectively. They both need to be in the line up in two years if we go all in.

Would love to see Teske to Iowa and the idiots at ISU burn his singlet. If Teske does not go to ISU their claimed momentum is over before it started. They ignore we have Lee and think Teske makes them the program in Iowa. They went all in on him and banter if he goes there at 125 they beat Iowa for a recruit. I know we want Teske but not like we don't have a pretty good 125. Be awesome to take their number 1 recruit when we already have Spencer.

I've said this before, they have the Iowa blinders on that Tom threw away 2-3 yrs ago.

If Brody Teske is truly serious about his career, colligeiately and post, and willing to put in the work to maximize is potential, abilities, and be the absolute best wrestler he can be, his choice is abundantly clear.
But when ur parents aren't rich they need you to go to whatever school is offering the most ship $. Mejia situation comes to mind.

Screw the kitchen sink, let's recruit him with kind words, rationale, promise of great wrestling room partners, scholarship $$$, and and an offer to wrestle at his dream school.

& the best collegiate wrestling club at his weight for him to compete internationally.

I think Teske has tremendous upside and would really thrive in Iowa's room. He reminds me quite a bit of Cliff Moore as far as skill set, stature, and "loving it" goes. He's earned the opportunity to get a top scholarship offer; I just hope that is not a barrier that would prevent him from becoming a Hawk.

Agreed. I took 10 minutes today and tried to think of one thing ISU could offer that Iowa can't. Closer to home and they don't have Spencer Lee? Roll around with Zadick who now weighs 150 pounds? I really have no idea what they could use against Iowa. It's not even close.

Teske is good and we want him. Lee is in another category...the creme de creme.

I think the assumption is that ISU is offering a lot more scholarship money than Iowa is.

More money would be my guess. Whether that is a difference maker to him and his family I dont know.

It's a glaring hole for Iowa right now. I'm not saying we should offer him a full ride, but it should be substantial. If not, I don't know what the hell we're doing.
Umm we have Spencer Lee. I would not call that a glaring hole.

I can't see the future, but we have a hole at one of the two lightest weights and it's glaring.

Well the staff just let a 4 time Cali state champ walk. Yea there are issues there academically but you have to think that they have a plan. Maybe I'll just ask Tom when I see him next time ;)
