In 9 out of 10 finals matches, the man who got the first takedown won. Snyder the exception.
A takedown was scored in the first period of 8 out of the 10, with 184 and 197 the exceptions.
Seems like we, as a team, often let up the first takedown of the match more than we should - even when we wrestle guys we should beat handily. In those matches we should win handily, we often come back to win, but this habit of letting up the first takedown often comes back to bite us in matches against top-notch competition. This is more of a stream of thought than anything else, but I wonder if part of our issue is in match preparation and being mentally ready to go in that first period.
