Good Article re Trump Supporters vs PC culture

Being a racist, bigot, fascist is defined by the motivation behind your belief. If you immediately assume that an incident between a police officer and a black person was caused by the black person then it is a racist view.

I can agree with what you wrote. Do you see the part where I will disagree with how it applies to the view I came to?

So you agree that the Uber CEO shouldn’t have to apologize to the ultra PC crowd for eating a sandwich
He doesn't have to apologize for eating there. However, if he doesn't want to hurt his business, he might want to clarify why he chose to eat at that particular restaurant.

I don't know if "love" is the correct word, but she's saying what I've been saying for over a year, so I can't say I'm upset with her essay ;)
So...she's being forced to support Trump (much like a current HROT poster) because the PC crowd is "defining what counts as 'appropriate' speech" despite the fact that Trump engages in exactly the same behavior from his bully pulpit. That's what you've been saying for over a year?

I assume you are saying that the color of the young man had nothing to do with why you didn't believe the "hands up don't shoot" narrative. Then your view was not racist.

I sleep better at night knowing I got a pissed off rant off of you.

I tip my caps to cig and all the losers of 2016 hoping you can find some inner peace.

[that weak attempt of flaming only works on the simple minds that would post it. better off to have cut and pasted someone else's flame]

Whatever it takes to rationalize your betrayal of your country and all it stands for, I guess. SAD.

Odd way to phrase that in my opinion, but I guess we agree so that's fine. I'll say this: I don't believe that view because it was a total lie. Once the facts were out, it was obvious that Mike Brown was completely in the wrong. Unfortunately, way too many people fell for "hands up, don't shoot" (some still do) and those people deem me a racist.

Got one for every day of the week.

I actually understand, now, how this works....

You start with your right index finger as the "counter":
point-finger2.jpg

You count off on your LEFT hand, the first days of the week:
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday.....uh oh....out of fingers here on the left hand....

CGC-Left-Hand-Diagram-294x400.jpg

So, NOW....you go BACK TO the right hand (which already has the "counter finger up")

point-finger2.jpg

And you keep counting from there!!!

FRIDAY:

SATURDAY:

Go ahead....LIBERALS!!! Count 'em!!! That's FOUR FINGERS....so it's FOUR DAYS in a week!!!

BOOYAH!

I have no idea what you're trying to say there, Tar. Really.

are you denying this happened under Obama? I don't remember your outrage when he was President? The new immigration legislation working its way through the house and supported by Trump would stop this. Kind of ruins your narrative doesn't it?

Only as a legacy from previous administrations. Obama put a stop to it (something that the right seems to not remember suddenly):

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/14/us/obama-immigration.html

Of course, there were issues with this as the right did everything they could to make sure children could be stolen from their parents:

This may have happened when Obama was President, but he certainly didn't support it and he did what he could to end it. Republicans refused to assist with any sort of legislation to correct the problem and now they get to steal children from their parents to their hearts delight.

Of course, the resident boards response to this position: "You're a stupid lib."

Do you think there is any answer he can give as to why he chose to eat there that will please the PC police?

He had two options, grovel and apologize to the left or lose business.

I don't doubt it...at all. Really.
I'm totally serious. She's saying the hysterical hatred by the Left is working to Trump's advantage, which is what I've been saying here. You apparently missed the point of the article. Which doesn't shock me.

Serious question: What do you think happens to the family when anyone goes to jail for any crime? And after you've forced yourself to confront the answer to that honestly, a second question: Do you think we should simply stop enforcing laws if the people who break them have families?

Why has political correctness become the new buzzwords that make Republicans so angry? The definition doesn't sound so bad:

politically correct
adjective
US
abbreviation PC
avoiding language or behavior that any particular group of people might feel is unkind or offensive:

The politically correct term "firefighter" is used instead of "fireman."
It is akin to identity politics. Everything that is PC is a third rail of identity in olitics, which is ya vs. them. No discussion, you are shouted down and pigeon holed as a Nazi. It just breeds resentment.

I think we need to have a viable answer for a reasonable path to citizenship for these people, something the right wants nothing to do with.

As for your first question, that's a big question. In the case of small-time, non-violent offenders I think we need changes to punishments that allow for parents (especially fathers) to have meaningful relationships with their kids. Obviously, serious crimes and violent offenders need to be off the streets but preventing parents from seeing their kids in meaningful ways is causing more problems than it is fixing.

The woman is an idiot. Trump causes this rabid hatred because he is a liar, a fraud, and a terrible POTUS. Plain and simple.

Seeking asylum isn’t a crime.

I got it perfectly. Hardly surprising that both you and she dismiss the hysterical hatred from the Right that fuels things like the birther movement or the alt-right. But, of course, you have no choice.

Ummm...as long as there are other family members who can care for the child...they stay with family. I'd guess that's almost always the case. Did you think they were incarcerated along with the parent?

He doesn't have to do anything. He's an adult...he can make his own decisions. Why do you have a problem with that?

Sorry it was the Twitter ceo. He was pretty much forced into giving an apology because some left wing Kooks got all butt hurt about it. This just a prime example of the ultra PC crowd, if you can’t recognize that then I can’t help you

LOL...he was forced? Explain how that works, please. Somebody had him in a choke-hold? A gun to his child's head? Please share.

Yeah, capitalism and fan/user/customer/kook servicing makes people have to do some ridiculous crap. It has been around a long time, and used by all of American's varieties. Pleasing irrational customers is BAU in America.

He, as the face of, Uber made a choice to patronize a business that has an anti gay stance. I would assume as a business man he knew some people would think that meant he agreed with them. If he does agree, he doesn't need to apologize. He can let the chips fall where they may. If he doesn't agree with them, he needs to explain that he had an uncontrollable craving for a chicken sandwich. Some people won't be satisfied with his apology and others will be disgusted that he apologized at all.

Whoops RN says it was the Twitter CEO not Uber, my explanation still stands though.
