Good Article re Trump Supporters vs PC culture

LOL...he was forced? Explain how that works, please. Somebody had him in a choke-hold? A gun to his child's head? Please share.

I said pretty much forced, in other words these kooks would have gone on an all out war to demonize him, his family, and Twitter, if he did not apologize for eating a chicken sandwich

It is akin to identity politics. Everything that is PC is a third rail of identity in olitics, which is ya vs. them. No discussion, you are shouted down and pigeon holed as a Nazi. It just breeds resentment.
Identity Politics is another one of those naughty phrases according to Republicans. Politics is all about identity. I identify with teachers because I am a retired teacher so I choose to vote for people who support education. I identify as liberal so I choose to vote for candidates that support liberal causes like civil rights and health care for all. I could go on, but you get the point. Republicans and conservatives do the same thing, people vote for others who believe the same things they do. How is that wrong?

The guy was only “forced” because of the marketplace. This is a conservative win. Read Gary Becker’s theory of discrimination.

So...kind of like how Dan Cathy was forced to bow down to the pressure he was under?

So, yeah, like RNhawk and Moral are besties now.

I'm kind of jealous. I offer you this photo as a token of my friendship, with the hopes that I can perhaps be considered for the inner circle. This is what dick heat turkey looks like after I've gone a few hours with it:

I got it perfectly. Hardly surprising that both you and she dismiss the hysterical hatred from the Right that fuels things like the birther movement or the alt-right. But, of course, you have no choice.
As I thought, you didn't understand it. Shoot first, and if you even bother to ask questions afterward, ignore inconvenient answers.

But I hold no grudge, as given the psychological makeup you have exhibited over the years here, you have no choice.

He, as the face of, Uber made a choice to patronize a business that has an anti gay stance. I would assume as a business man he knew some people would think that meant he agreed with them. If he does agree, he doesn't need to apologize. He can let the chips fall where they may. If he doesn't agree with them, he needs to explain that he had an uncontrollable craving for a chicken sandwich. Some people won't be satisfied with his apology and others will be disgusted that he apologized at all.

How does Chick-Fil-A have an anti-gay stance as a company?

The President has called for people to be fired for kneeling during the anthem, he wants comedians fired for making mean jokes, and wants to rein in First Amendment protections for speech he deems offensive.

Is that not all fake PC bullshit?
Swinging around a bloody decapitated head of the president is not a good career move. Unless it's Trump's and you're a far far gone lib.

Not trying to be a dick, been looking this up. I haven’t found anything related to Corp, just individuals.

I’ll read a link if you have it.
I'm not interested in doing any work. If you are researching it and I have it wrong, I'll stand corrected. Frankly it hardly matters. If the owner is anti gay, boycotting his business is legit.

Do you question everyone’s views that you interact with or do business with?

Not as much as I should, but it’s certainly a factor when the position is known. Don’t you do business with people who support you and avoid those who dis you? You should.

Not really, I judge the person for who they are. I have boycotted a business before but I have not gone after somebody who did business with them. Do you have conservative friends?

I have you. Who a person is is what they do.

I am on a roll today made friends with moral, you, and helped Jason

Good article. Being annoyed that some liberals are over the top PC loons is a terrible reason to support Trump. I have already predicted that he will win a 2nd term because there is simply no doubt that Americans are absolutely too dumb to learn from the mistakes that lead us here.

It would be great if something stuck to Trump that forced him out. If we libs could force Americans into electing a different R who wasn't such an embarrassment, I'd take that at this point.
Yeah, for about 8 hrs before they were made out to be a racist facist zealot who wants to kill the brown folk and throw granny from a cliff.

It's not but then again you know those aren't the identity politics that get played. Race, gender, sexuality, religion etc... you know, all the garbage the govt has pretty much no impact on but love to stoke fear and emotion with.

I don't understand what you are saying. Do you mean the the government has no impact on race relations, women's issues, LBGTQ matters, freedom of religion issues, etc? Or are you saying that concerns about those issues are unfounded?

Those that vote for trump to spite the PC loons have a more valid stance than those that wanted HRC because she is a woman. Everyone is taking a big bite of poop sammy. It really speaks volumes to our 2 party system and whom they put forth as candidates.

I for one hope most of the Ds and Rs in our country off each other, then we can start acting sane in this country and let the adults take over.

Both sides are pretentious reactionary self-rightious jerks trying to offend or be offended.

I don't understand what you are saying.

So first you don’t understand when political correctness goes overboard. Now you don’t understand the kind of divisive identity politics that Matt is discussing.

Are you sure this entire topic isn’t over your head? These aren’t hard concepts to grasp.

After a second reading, I think you are saying women voting for women simply because they are the same gender, black people voting for blacks because they are the same race, etc.

If that were true all white women would have voted for Hillary. All white men would have voted for Donald Trump. Gay people would only vote for LBGTQ candidates. Etc.

That's not true. I am a white woman who will not be voting for Kim Reynolds for governor of Iowa because of her policies toward education as well as other issues. I voted for Barack Obama because of his policies not his race. I did vote for Hillary who is also a white woman, but it was not because of her gender or race it was because her policy ideas were more in line with mine. Who do you know who votes for someone simply because that person is of the same race, gender, sexual identity, etc?

Only to the extent they use them to divide people. Much of the magnitude of these concerns is fueled by hyper partisan pols and ideologues on both sides.
