Good News for Southern Red States: Looks like there isn't a California "exodus" after all...

Alrighty then. One of the a-holes us Floridians wish would have an unhappy encounter with a large gator during mating season.

You let millions of people in Via the border, then you have hundreds of thousands of Tax payers leave, but the number was offset by 36k more new people who dont have a pot to piss in.

Celebrate.

Our homeowner's insurance has increased over 125% in the last two years. The industry cites inflation for replacement costs as the biggest factor.
Thats your problem, i'm paying maybe 5% more, where climate change has been quiet. No tornados, hurricanes or flooding for years where i live.

Cali gets $100 billion a year from the Feds (that’s US taxpayers) just for Medicaid. Per the WSJ.
I’m sure since you live in Jawja that’s okay by you?

The population offset is fueled by illegals moving there because it’s a sanctuary state offering benefits these people could never dream of back in their country of origin.
I’m not sure I’d hold Cali up as a model for much of anything these days other than sunshine.

I say good news for southern red states because California pays for much of their infrastructure through tax dollar redistribution... aka socialism. The southern red states suck much more money from the federal teat than they contribute.

Strange as I saw a 2030 reapportionment projection this am which showed ca losing 2 seats, and ny/il/mn/or each losing one.

Guess where they’re going…

Trends in Home Insurance Rates

Analyzing Recent Data

Recent data shows a noticeable increase in home insurance rates, particularly as we move through 2024. Comparing pre-2024 trends with current data reveals a significant uptick in premiums. This change is largely attributed to the rising inflation rate.

Slapping a 25% tariff on lumber from Canada should help bring this back in line. Correct?

Which benefits are undocumented aliens eligible for?

The increase in the S&P has driven an even bigger chasm between the haves and the have nots. An indeniable fact is that the Biden presidency has been brutal to the middle and lower income classes of America.

You and I, and some others on this board can withstand huge percentage increases with auto and home insurance premiums, significant increases in groceries and many other products. Middle and lower income families cannot.

Your flippant attitude on the matter is one of several reasons why your side lost the election. The American left has turned into the hoity-toity elitist party.

…and I’m one of them. I’ll never taste a salary like that in my line of work. So yeah, the cost of goods plays a massive role in day to day lives of us “poor people”.

I’m sure you both will be back midterm once Trump’s tariffs and other economic missteps sends our economy into a tailspin. If you do show up you’ll just be blaming the democrats once again. Everything old will be new once again. Republicans mess it up then the democrats clean it up until the republicans lie machine convinces the low information dumdums to vote for them again because their brains are broken. Rinse and repeat. We’re fooked.

And you think Trump and Republicans will fix the insurance mess why? Insurance companies are price gouging con artists and always have been. Wake tf up if you actually think they need to increase rates 125% because of “Biden inflation”. They’re ripping us off and neither party will stop that.

This story must be wrong. MAGAts would never lie to us.

Just a misleading headline.

Look at the Census file they link for yourself:

California international migration exceeds the negative domestic migration:

361k foreigners in, 239k Americans out.

361,057-239,575

Florida had more foreign immigration than CA, and still has positive domestic migration:

411,32264,017

So you’re in favor of homogenizing our population?

Then Elon Musk should be deported, since he’s an immigrant.

How do you personally determine who is getting deported?
Not in favor of homogenizing our population. I’m not sure where you got that from anything I’ve said.

I believe Musk is U.S. legally, so I am not in favor of deporting him. I’m not sure what Musk has to do with anything I’ve posted.

I, personally, do not get to determine who is deported. Sounds like a big job that needs more than 1 person’s judgement on who is deported. I would start with criminals and those who did not properly apply for asylum. I’d then move to those who applied for asylum, but didn’t show up for the court date. Then those who applied for asylum but do not meet the qualifications. I am not in favor of deporting anyone who is currently a legal citizen of the U.S. My stance is also that if you are here illegally, but employed and a productive member of society, that there should be a path to citizenship.

The thing is, you said in your earlier post “white people”. That indicates a distinction between races.

There is an article regarding Sweden on Quora that talks about light skin and why some Swedes have darker skin.

So if someone is of Brazilian descent, they’re not white? What about Argentina, Venezuela, Italy? Are they not white?

If everyone had to do their DNA, I think most would find it interesting to find many dark skinned people are not “black nor brown “.

Interesting. I don’t necessarily consider myself white.

Then why would you want only white people to immigrate. And what did you mean by your statement?

The worst crime mobs in NY are Russian.

I just think that one cannot label someone because of the color of their skin, nor their nationality.

Traffic sucks in Tallahassee. I assure you it’s not the immigrants.
It really does but you and I understand the more likely reasons.
We lived in the LA area in the early 80’s and we thought it was crazy then. I can only imagine how awful is now.

Musk has been an American citizen for about twenty years. He has every right you and I do except he cannot run for POTUS.
America has always provided a path to citizenship that more or less works in tandem with legal immigration. It can and should be updated and streamlined.
Black/white/brown/yellow are welcome and only add to the vibrant mix that makes America what it is.

Can you blame them? How long do you sit on your hands as the cost of everything shoots to the moon? Most people DON’T have a cushy three figure salary.

So it's Christmas so I will help. Not sure why I read this whole thread but people were not making fun of you for what you make or any American makes.

You said a cushy THREE figure salary which means a max of $999 for the year. Three figures means three digits.

You were meaning a SIX figure salary ($100,000).

But since I read through this all, people were clearly trying to poke fun at you until you realized what you said. Since it didn't happened I stepped in to help.

Not Iowa, because we are most likely going to lose one, too. I think Idaho will get one from some California transplants, but that is not the full story. I assume they are going to go to states that are turning brown? That is what is going on. There isn't an exodus, it's demographics.

Exactly & California has a $55 billion budget deficit…poor saps. 😜

However, didn’t you already know he meant 6 figure salary (despite his 3 figure snafu)? Duh…$999 is a realistic annual salary. 🤔
