US men with 5 golds so far. Burroughs and Cox yesterday; Gilman, Fix, and McKenna this evening. All by tech/pin. Halfway there.

Wont be able to get 10 this time. Retherford defaulted out, illness.

Never did all the times I’ve been down there…tequila did me in a few times though. I have caught giardia from drinking river water…that shit was no bueno.
I caught giardia rafting in Idaho back in the day. They couldn’t figure out what it was even after I told them Giardia had been reportedly been more common as of late. I had it for over a month. During that time, we kayaked Hells Canyon. I was sick as a dog. Lost a lot of weight.

The Mexican ice incident was probably self induced. We were eating at a place in the jungle. Outside seating with no other diners. I sparked a joint and don't think the staff appreciated that move. So my coke came with an extra dose of Montazuma’s revenge.

The 2023 Pan American Games are going to be fairly close to me (6 hours away, in Santiago, Chile) so I'll probably be going. Anyone want to go with me? I'll arrange everything and be your personal tour guide, even help with your Spanish -- total cost of trip, around $3000.

Chile is one of the best wine countries in the world, stunning scenery in the south, lots of seafood, largest copper producer in the world, forestry is huge industry, salmon farming is really big - what else you want to know? I actually don't much like the people and culture in Chile, but that's a long story. Years ago I spent a fair amount of time there, doing academic studies.

I checked the web - besides wrestling (only sport that really matters!), there's a total of 28 sports in the Games. Between wrestling sessions we could check out artistic roller skating, dressage, or slalom canoeing.

I stopped drinking tequila 30 years ago el dub. Lol
Looking up at the cosmos flat on my back in the yard and it spinning way too fast taught me. 😀
I had that exact same experience one night during college. Flat on my back and spinning like a top. But I didn’t get sick on that ride and knew the tequila gods had accepted me.

Chile is a wonderful place to visit from top to bottom. From the beautiful countryside in the south where avocado groves are planted on the side of mountains to the far north where the Atacama desert is located. I actually preferred the Atacama desert the best. The desert meets the ocean at Antofagasta. Surreal to see sand storms dissapate into the water. While staying in Santiago, I witnessed my first earthquake. A 5.3 I think. Santiago is called Sanhattan because it is the financial center of South America. Last time I was there (2010), the smog was pretty bad in Santiago. I mean overcast on a sunny day bad.
