Greg Gard goes on the Offensive, defending Brad Davison

I didn't see any foul on Keegan and the only thing that sold the call was Davison pulling him down. If you don't think it is hook and hold, it has to at least be a common foul on Davison.

If the refs could take the foul off Keegan and just give a common foul to Davison, then
that would have been a fair outcome also.

Davison is always trying to get away with extra chit and him and Gard have to live with the scrutiny. They got away with it for two years when Davison was drawing 40 Plus
opponent charging calls per season on blatant flopping. The nut grabbing just got to be too much.
It’s just a “play on” imo

Uno makes a good point. One of the things that I think only dishonesty explains is the willingness to let teams like Sparty and Bucky or the Hoosiers/Boilers in the 80s and 90s, make the officials look so inept and dishonest.

When you see a Sparty squad go 18 consecutive minutes without a foul call, or the animal maulings common in Bucky's world wouldn't an official be embarrassed over all the shit they purportedly "do not see"?

IIRC, ESPN showed an edited version when discussing that Brad has a bad rep

Davison has a reputation because of his on court actions have led to that over the years. ESPN reported on his reputation, which was rightfully so. Was it necessary for the broadcast. Absolutely not, but it’s not a witch hunt either.

Gard pretends Davison has a reputation because ESPN showed a graphic during a game a few weeks back. Quite the contrary, coach.

perfectly stated. its crazy how some (key word is some) Wisconsin fans are still defending him, too

I mean, my god, there is video and photos of all of the incidents over all the years

Correct. ESPN didn't need to show the fake Wikipedia edit. There is enough material on Davison without that. Much I dislike about the reviews in college hoops, but 100% the best part of it is that Davison's crap gets caught during games. I have no idea what he was doing on Murray's putback and-1. That was the more egregious hook, just grabbed Murray's arm for no reason. The one when Wisconsin had the ball could possibly be construed as incidental, but you won't get the benefit of the doubt when you do that.

Two other dirty Davison plays haven’t even been mentioned. Going into Garza on a pick, he tried to knee Garza in the groin and/or kick him in some fashion. Then he also threw a hip check at a jumping CJ which sent him 5-10 feet. The kid is a scumbag. His coach is also a scumbag who should be suspended.

I dont know if Id call it dirty, but that illegal screen on the dribble hand off that leveled JBo caught my attention. Looked like it knocked some cobwebs loose on JBo.

Gard should be mad about the call on Trice rather than defending that POS Davison

That was truly awful, and that’s the call that cost them a chance of winning.

What a dumb ass.

Davison got a flop warning in the Purdue game earlier in the week. Yelled at the rep that he tripped over Jaden Ivey's foot (not even close). He then pulled that same trash talking during FTs thing as Ivey was draining the clinchers. Jaden laughed in his face going up the tunnel and told him "nice try."

The last Wisconsin game I watch Davison had both hands wrapped around an opponents bicep and looked like he was trying to chin himself. I know Wisconsin teaches their players to foul by using their lower body while showing their arms to move opponents from beneath the rim on RB's and on offensive shots. They pride themselves on how few fouls are called on their team, but that doesn't mean they aren't committing them. They always seem to have at least one player that is known to other players as dirty. Davison is just the latest.
