Not in college or high school. Only the pros. 3 seconds is an offensive call, and they rarely call that....
So this is crazy shit. I just googled 3 second defensive rule. One thread said there is NO such rule in the NCAA. The next thread said there is in fact a rule, Article 16 that says the defense can not be in the lane for 3 seconds unless guarding an offensive player. I don't see how thats possible. Teams play zone all the time and stand a defender in the paint, and I've never seen a defensive 3 second call in a college game. NEVER...

Maybe I’m being dense but what do you mean (I’m legit curious). It seemed to me that she has a lot of potential and was given more than enough chances to prove herself but seemed to me to actually digress as the year went on. The (sometimes very) silly turnovers, bad decisions, etc seemed to pile up. I totally get there are growing pains with young ones but you want to see growth.
I’m not trying to be a Richard but wonder I what you mean.

My comment was a reply to the question above, regarding the internet narrative that Aaliyah's father had issue with the program. --->Nothing more than you would expect from a father, coach, and former player.
I'm a fan, but generally agree with your assessment. Aaliyah is still trying to find her game in college. I'd guess she will continue to improve over the summer.
She transferred to a B10 program that is 90 minutes from her hometown. Seems like a natural fit, not something that "speaks volumes."

She got way too many minutes at Iowa. Sure, she could become really good, just not there now.
Nobody is outweighing anything when it comes to "pops". He did nothing but complain all year. From game tickets to Aaliyia starting. I sat behind him many games and he never stood to applaud his daughter or cheer in any way. He didn't want her at Iowa and it finally got to her.
It was posted earlier that AJ posted a question part way through the season on how to go about entering a person in the portal, and then quickly deleted it. What kind of a father does that? Good riddance.
And then claimed he was "asking for a friend" or a former AAU player or something. And people actually defended that excuse. 😭
Passive agressive meddling all season long. Although I'm sure AJ thinks otherwise, he is not helping his daughter. Aaliyah needs to tell dad to butt out.
It makes you wonder if he not only affects his daughter, but maybe the others on the team. Maybe we are better off without the pair of them, since they seem to come as a pair.

Who cares? She was not happy at Iowa, or she would not have transferred. I am sure, AJ, if he were as you say (none of us has talked to him), was supporting his daughter. I do not think there is any reason to keep discussing this. I wish her well.
