For the FEMA crowd in this thread, I lost a home on Sanibel Island from Ian and did not receive/did not want to deal with a FEMA "loan". FEMA doesn't just give you money and if a person has insurance beware of dealing with FEMA until you settle with insurance or not. I strayed from both except getting my insurance to do the clean up scrapping part. My premiums are intact as is my insurance. I ran away from FEMA as it would have been a loss for me.

I know people who have lost their insurance because they "changed the terms" (or some sort of legalese wording) when they remodeled their home. I think it was actually after their home was repaired from storm damage so it wasn't even like they had a choice about doing it.

DeSantis should have taken a call from Harris. He only had to ask one question. "What are you able to do for me that President Biden and FEMA aren't already doing?" That conversation would have taken less than 1 minute.
