I kind of wish PMac would dribble less and become more of a catch and shoot player. He seems like a really good shooter when he's set, but his lack of handles kind of gets him into trouble.
All around terrible performance. Not really anything positive to say about it.
Actually, that's a big part of it. They get away with a lot more slapping down on the arms at home resulting in turnovers

I said on here after they beat Indiana that I hoped Fran was paying attention to how ineffective it will be to post on the block against them.
3 straight games now they've fouled the shit out of Edey, TJD and now Filip, all home games.

This is correct. Pmac is not a BIG player. If he had half of the basketball IQ his brother had, he'd be serviceable. He's weak, he doesn't pay attention, he's out for his on offense and doesn't know how to play defense or rebound. If he's not making shots, he's a huge liability which is most games because he doesn't make shots either. It sucks to say those things because he's a good kid, it's just this level of basketball doesn't work for him.

NU doubled and tripled in the post constantly and Iowa made no adjustments! their ability toswing the ball to get better looks was awful...bad coaching, bad execution, bad game!
He hasn’t developed. That’s for sure. And it seems apparent that mental health has a lot to do with it. Unfortunate, but it is what it is.

This is just another typical Iowa team with FM sort of good at times, plays down to competition, terrible at times, and really not a threat to win any sort of championship regular season (except BTT once in 13 years). The hard part of being a fan is you know it is going to be the same every year. JMO
It would be nice if Fran would've gotten a 5 in the portal but that would take minutes from Conner. Big surprise he can't get assists in a game where he would have to actually drive and set guys up. He hangs out on the perimeter making risk free passes that result in Assists when we're hitting our shots. He is awful when we aren't hitting shots and against almost all NCAA tourney caliber teams.

Yes. There have been games he has played well. Definitely not at the level i expected from him this season or even close but I've seen players get it at different points in there career. His might be next season.

As my kid sister said, he looks like a cartoon bunny out there just hopping around without a care in the world.
At this point, Iowa is better off getting Mulvey or Ogundale or Dix minutes over Patrick. Whatever his mental issues are should not be the Iowa basketball team's problem. Enough of the McCaffery boys (Connor had another stellar 0-5 game) having free encouragement to shoot brick after air ball after brick.

Something isn’t right with PM. I think taking the rest of the season off would be in his and the teams best interests.
He is who he has always been on the court. Never seen anyone drive away from the hoop as much as he does.
I totally agree, he needs to be done in an IA uniform and should go to Upper Iowa. Dix needs every last one second of his minutes. I can't think of one redeeming aspect to his game at this point - literally not even one.
Connor belongs though, maybe not as many minutes as he got tonight but he usually brings it.
Not really. Even falling off the cliff with production lately he's still the 4th leading scorer at 10.5 per game in 22.5 min per. His defense is bad but he was scoring points early in the season. He's lost right now
But the vast majority of his drives are at 45degree angles away from the basket. Never seen anything like it.
Oh I agree that his shot selection is bad and he has always forced up a lot of junk but he could get hot briefly and still averaged 10.5 last year too. Now he can hardly contribute anything. Something is going on, I doubt his anxiety is much better... I bet he just missed playing and his dad missed having him out there.
Last ten games 4.9 pts, 0.5 off/1.4 d rbs., 27.5% fg, around 19 minutes pg. Who knows how many points his D is giving up. Not really contributing much to the cause.
Connor at least provides intangibles and leadership (when he’s not distracted by the refs). Patrick provides nothing at this point in his career. Nothing.

He had 0 pts and 0 REB in 18+ minutes.....and he's 6'-9".........Someone earlier described his actions as "loafing" which is a perfect description of how he plays.....I also found it amusing he was wearing knee pads. I think we could count on one hand the number of times we've seen him dive for a loose ball.....Wish him the best, but his return and number of minutes played since has hurt the team.....

Just when you thought Patrick couldn't regress any further, Bambi plays like he did vs. Indiana. Despite his well documented struggles at all facets of the game, Fran still played the guy 16 minutes (as many as Ulis and 12 mins more than Dix)...and his stat line was 3 turnovers, 0 rebounds, and 2 points...on a wide open layup where he travelled but it wasn't called. Digging hard for negatives when these last two wins were two of the best of the season….what a miserable person. Pissed because the Hawks win and hate the coach so bad you have to pick on his son who’s fought cancer and still obviously dealing with the issues of having his thyroid destroyed???, wow
Face it, Fran’s good at what he does and you suck at whatever it is you’re trying to do.
Had Iowa had the Swarm Collective last year I feel confident in saying we get one of the transfers Fran was pursuing.
Dear god, we just walloped a top 15 ranked Indiana squad at their place after they swept the likely regular season champs…and you can’t even take 24 hours to enjoy the win before ragging on somebody.

How many practices do you attend? How do you know what the coach (and this was a GREAT coaching job) thinks he needs on the floor and what person on the roster best fits what he is trying to accomplish? You know his players better than he does? Of course not......and it really shows who you are.
At one time, though I disagree with most thing you post, I thought you were intelligent.....and maybe had some basketball sense. But your view of Patrick, his abilities, and his performance is so jaded by your hate/obsession with Fran that you can't see with any clarity.
Fran's doing another really good job, and he knows the tools that he needs down the stretch for depth and schemes......and you are clueless.

What if he is dealing with the symptoms of his physical condition?....that the doctors have said that he can play?.....and he is a talented kid who is just limited in the amount of time he plays? Without him we don't have that incredible comeback against MSU...doesn't happen.
