12 points - four FGs - surrendered on drives that didn't start inside their own 20 against an offense that is pretty good (at least, supposedly).

Defense did more than enough to win, but offense couldn't even scratch out a garbage time FG.

Leave now, Brian. Even a snot-nosed 8 year old with a play sheet they copied from a video game can manage a FG in the closing 'garbage time' minutes of a non-competitive game.

Take Hill with him.

Bump. All the negative sh*t about the offense is overshadowing the elite performance by our Defense tonight. Some great hits out there. Just sad they didn't come up with a couple turnovers.
Even more sad that them capitalizing on turnover possibilities and/or scoring off those said turnover possibilities was the only chance Iowa had to win this game.

Yeah. And that dropped pick indirectly led to 7 points for Michigan.
You're not wrong, but man. I can not be mad at that. Upset, sure, but not mad.

Brian should not need Pick6's to do his job for him, yet the overall record probably would have been a couple games worse if not for Pick6s in certain games.

Oh yeah definitely. Not mad, just bummed by the missed opportunity. And the resulting sequence. Definitely just highlights the shitstorm that is the offense

Defense played great. Deacon should not be a D1 qb. Not accurate and can't scramble. It is remarkable this team has done what has done with this offense. A mediocre offense makes this team top 10. So frustrating.

Phil coaches his players to be their best and be in the right position, despite what the scenario is in front of them. Players know their roles and don't try to do too much and get out of position that would impact their teammate.

Brian talks about complimentary football, vague comments about how he is proud of the system they run. Brian has players that give effort, but, they are so devoid of coaching and he believes his scheme is not the problem.

The performance of the players under the two coaches are glaring.

Phil identifies players in recruiting, takes lower recruited players, loses first rounders in the draft, and has to deal with injuries and a suspension. He then coaches them and has expectations for them despite all of that. The result is obvious to all.

On the other hand Brian, makes comments about how his scheme/coaching is not the issue, it is the players fault and injuries. No accountability or the ability to develop the players. He should have never been allowed to be OC.

Kudos to the Hawk defense.
Don’t be too hard on Deacon. He was thrust into the starter position by injury and no depth at the position.

This defense deserved to be in the championship game. For that reason alone I’m glad Iowa got there. And they showed up to night. Amazing performance. Hats off to all of those on the defensive side of the ball - players and coaches. This was a 9-0 game masquerading as a 26-0 game.
I am reminded of "Give us 14 points and we'll win the game"

Drubbed 180- 27 last last 4 games vs the Big Boys in Big 10. Embarrassing.
