he seems to have a really confrontational personality and gets emotional often, at least online. one minute he’ll be really nice and the next he’ll quote tweet a dad and say coaches shouldn’t recruit his kid because they disagreed about football players opting out of bowl games. it’s a wild ride but his info and connections are unquestionable so he’s still an essential follow. i have to imagine he’s not like that in person considering he seems to be friends with everyone.

Complete nonsense. They are choosing the Illinois Matmen tournament because they already have travel and lodging booked. UNI might be an exception. I was there under Penrith, so I don't know for sure what the issue is, but I could see some spite there.
The fans don't matter in this case, because we're all morons. People on the inside know what the University of Iowa means to wrestling and know how much the Brands' do to advance the sport. It makes sense for anyone not within a few hour drive to stick to the original itinerary.

Its odd Army would agree to come to Carver on one days notice, they must not be a D-1 team. Really strange Okie state makes no bones about their hate for Hawks in our rivalry yet they agree to make grapple on the gridiron what it was and are now setting up for us to wrestle them in Texas Stadium. Coaches and ADs dont usually make decisions based on emotions in the heat of competition. As far as coaches, they may not like them when wrestling Iowa but I would guess they respect and appreciate what they have done to grow the sport.
IDEA: Nothing against any of these proposed/planned tournaments, but taking a week or so off to heal up/let The Plague (Covid) subside might be an idea.
I have a friend who is getting married and everyone has to have proof of vaccination to be admitted into the reception per the city of Chicago requirements. Not saying Chicago is the reason for the midlands being cancelled, but I know it is the reason that some people aren to going to this particular wedding and reception.

Agree. I’ve rounds with him plenty of times over the years, but I can almost guarantee we’d hit it off well in person. Hope to slug some red labels with him sometime.
How can man judge anyone for making a decision they felt best for them?? God, in whichever form you view him/it, is in control and always will be, and if I know Mark like I think I do, he passed peacefully and without fear.
