Hidlay

I thought I read he was at Purdue this last weekend & would decide after. I saw Purdue had a team campout though. I can't think that was their recruiting weekend. If so a different tactic by Coach Ersland.

I like it. Probably had hoagies and mountain dew for Hidlay.

I unfortunately agree. In today’s age of recruiting when your not “liking” something on twitter it’s unfortunately a sign. Jake sent this out this morning and crickets from Hoagie:(

So long story short, if this is true...

We couldn’t even address our needs at both 33 & 84. What the ...........

Can’t have wasted years in recruiting when you’re going against OSU AND PSU. They produce year end and year out.

It kind of seems like we need to be more broad in our initial evaluations of who we want to land and put in the work on a larger sample size. It seems like we target very specific people for a need area and then if it does not work we get bagels. That said with Wilke likely down to 184 next year and the year after we are still ok to get a 184 in next years class and have him start coming off redshirt. If Brands and Cass both end up being multiple high AA then we can get by with the class even if not ideal. If not and it really hurts the cause, no margin for error.

It’s a RUMOR! He didn’t respond to a twitter post. So what?? We may not get him but then again we might. If he reads this forum sure the negativity will impress him however.

Well it is just a rumor like I said and I sure as hell hope I'm wrong. Maybe should not have posted it. I'm one man that just don't get my self to excited until they sign the darn letter of intent..

You can say that again. No margin for error for any of the top 5 for sure. Should be one fantastic year for us fans.

How exactly does one hear rumors about a PA kid clear in Minnesota? And why does everyone feel the need to feel they are somehow in the know on recruits? These "rumors" he speaks of consists of one single post. Grant it, the guy who made it is in tune with lots of things in that neck of the woods in Pennsylvania but even he admitted it was second hand info. Now having said that, I think Minne is right in that Hidlay goes elsewhere but I never really thought he was going to Iowa at any point in time... even after the jorts pic.

On a side note, I'm sitting in my easy chair in the dark getting ready for work and I flip to some movie with Ashton Kutcher. Wouldn't you know it, he's wearing a Hawkeyes Wrestling hoodie. Damn it...I used to like him too...lol

You can catch the Iowa Wrestling fan / Grad in the netflix series "The Ranch" too.

As for Hidlay, I am still hoping..

It’s not unusual to see Ashton and his wife sitting with Gable at Iowa wrestling meets in Carver

No ding-dong. Ashton grew up about 15 miles dead West of Iowa City & spent a year or two hear as a student. He occasionally comes to Wrestling meets & Football games when he is home visiting his family.

Born in Cedar Rapids I believe. Huge Hawk fan.
Ben Askren was born in CR too, but moved to Wisconsin at a young age. Not a hawk fan...

Went to CCA within pissing distance of Carver

I saw him play basketball in the Prime Time League years ago.
