They tried hard to get Matt. Offered Tank, Scandella and a few picks a few years ago. Calgary IIRC outbid them though.
We will be okay. Still have Armstrong and our coach. Some large chunks of salary come off the next two years. And the Blues will spend right up to the cap.
I still think there’s close to a 100% chance the USA hockey goal song was selected because of this

I feel so anti American right now. Came into this game fully pulling for USA. But as I watch I realize my fandom of the Avs is making that a little difficult. Feel a closer alliance to Mckinnon, Makar and Toews and don't really have an allegiance to any of the US players. Oh well, go USA!!
