Rumors say this is happening soon. Thoughts from Iowa fans? Good hire...bad hire?

He was born in Lincoln. Grandfather coached Huskers. Huge Husker football fan. Great facilities and fan support. Maybe he wants to stay in the Midwest. IDK.

Poster on our board says that he heard from a booster that Mark Turgeon is going to be the New Coach because his father lives in Lincoln..

So assuming on either one of these two is just a rumors..

I didn't say it was true, but seems like more than one person is hearing Hoiberg. We'll find out soon I guess.

it would be interesting; i think he's a great college coach. for whatever reason, the pros never listened to him or respected him.

he's a mulit millionaire; he can retire if he wanted.

hell, the Timberwolves owners loves him so I would not be surprised if he lands back in the Minni-Apple.

will be interesting to see where he lands...if he does....he might just take another year off, who knows.

hell, LA does not sound bad, either! UCLA, maybe?

First we have to lose a NIT game so TM can be let go..

I dont know...I really like TM. I think hes an outstanding coach. Hes also brought in some good talent. If he is let go and they dont get Hoiberg...the old saying that the grass isnt always greener on the other side just might apply.

Tim is like able and know one knows if it is Hoiberg or Turgeon but Miles has had his chances over 7 years and not much to show for it..

Don’t expect to play in the NCAA every year but more than one out of 7 years and most of the time the bottom 4 playing on Wednesday in the B1G tournament..
Nebraska has made upgrades in their basketball facilities and TM couldn’t cash in..

You would know more than I, but wouldnt it be fair to say that this season got derailed by injuries? Nebraska played so well early in the year. When did Copeland go down? My guess is that is when the slide hit. It affects rotations and minutes. Their performance in the Big Ten tournament was pretty remarkable.

I agree Miles seems likable and he has brought in some talent to a program without a lot of history.

He just seems like a huge nerd and I can’t imagine what an 18 y/o recruit would relate to him with.

I loved his “a lesser athlete would have been injured” tweet after tripping the other day. That was funny.

Copeland went down in the tOSU game at the end of January and they already lost to MSU at home and Rutgers on the road..

Jacobson transferred And Starts for Iowa St and Morrow transferred to Marquette and comes off the bench.. There had to some reason why they transferred and having no true center killed Roby having to have to play that position..

This makes little sense in the context of a guy that reportedly hates recruiting.
The college game is all about recruiting.
I would think he most likely heads back to the NBA and a front office spot. He gives off a vibe more consistent with a GM than a coach .

A guy like that would need to surround himself with assistants that love recruiting. Delagate the shit you don’t like doing.

He’s a good whiskey drinker though!
