Sounding like a done deal, $4 mil a year for seven years. With their facilities and Fred’s ability to land transfers, they will be an immediate force. Add his NBA ties, and he will win there.
It was guaranteed.the bulls dont owe him 25 mil. That was the entire contract.
It was guaranteed.
I would be shocked if Fred returns to the college game. It is no secret he hates recruiting.
If he does, it won't be for Nebraska. You guys are off your rocker if you buy this.
Again, that just means Nebraska plans to make Fred the front runner ... Does not mean Fred has any interest whatsoever ... It would be a home run hire for Nebraska
Lol...who has Neb thrown a ton of money at? Riley? Miles? Pelini? Frost was paid market value. Bob Diaco was the only football guy I can think of that they threw a lot of money at and it ended up terrible. This has always been Nebby’s problem. They think they can just throw a ton of money at something and end up dominating a sport the way they have with women’s volleyball and bowling, but it just doesn’t work that way with the higher profile sports.
Wait wait...we'll trade you Fran for Tim but you have to take Frans buyout. Deal?Sounding like a done deal, $4 mil a year for seven years. With their facilities and Fred’s ability to land transfers, they will be an immediate force. Add his NBA ties, and he will win there.
They would be pissed if he went to Kansas, most would not care if he went to Nebraska and probably would enjoy it because he would be a thorn in Iowa 's paw.its the ones that wouldn't be happy...and there would be plenty...that would make it enjoyable.

This is accurate imo. Cyclones fans would be fired up if he went to another Big 12 school or Iowa, but not much of an issue going to Nebraska especially with the family history.

Not just cops but academics. ISU basketball transfers that have either been kicked out due to crimes committed or flunked out do to academics never have any trouble once they enroli at ISU.Question would he be able to get the same deal from the Lincoln cops as he got in Ames? If not he won't take it. You know what kind of players he wants.
Barta could broker the deal.Lol...who has Neb thrown a ton of money at? Riley? Miles? Pelini? Frost was paid market value. Bob Diaco was the only football guy I can think of that they threw a lot of money at and it ended up terrible.
Oh ya...Lincoln cops are all in..Question would he be able to get the same deal from the Lincoln cops as he got in Ames? If not he won't take it. You know what kind of players he wants.
as a laker fan i hope not .Fred to UCLA where recruiting is easy and then to the Lakers if he does well.

You do understand that she went to school to be a nurse, and going to Iowa would NEVER be considered. She actually interned for Bill Self. Rumor has it that Bill Self is going to the Bulls. So I have to think that Fred might want to wait to hear on that. If KU opens up he would be at the top of the list.Clone fans got all creepy and weird when Hoibergs daughter went to KU...I can't imagine what they would do if Fred ended up there.
If Miles is history, Nebraska should hire Alford as they deserve each other.
I’m not talking about the sports where they’ve historically struggled. I’m talking about the ones where they’ve become established blue bloods—the women’s volleyball coach, Cook, and women’s bowling, I forget his name.Lol...who has Neb thrown a ton of money at? Riley? The hypocrisy is strong with this one.Not just cops but academics. ISU basketball transfers that have either been kicked out due to crimes committed or flunked out do to academics never have any trouble once they enroli at ISU.
Not sure about that with Frosty being the favorite son. I am sure there will be fewer casual Jayskers. People in Nebraska will follow Husker hoops. But will Lincoln accept him as mayor?....

Fred gave some kids who had made stupid mistakes second chances. None of them were bad young men or bad teammates. If he goes to NU, they will immediately be regular NCAA participants, the tournament losing streak will end, and their fans will love the guy. Fun style of ball. Great ambassador of his alma mater. Pure class.
He won’t invest in recruiting 5 star kids that end up at UNLV with a handler landing a job or a pocket full of cash. That soured him on recruiting. He’ll go after the 4 star kids who get to the NBA after four years.

On a sidenote: Don't you love the way of journalism today: "says a source..." ... "A source close to the situation ..." As a former journalist, it drives me crazy all of these anonymous sources
Agree it would be a homerun hire if it happens.
Don't remember seeing that. Probably some of that fake news that's going around.Clone fans got all creepy and weird when Hoibergs daughter went to KU...I can't imagine what they would do if Fred ended up there.
That "awful" your talking about beat Iowa. All I know if he takes the job he better be scouring the transfer market asap. They are going to be awful next year especially if Roby goes pro.
As a former journalist, I absolutely agree. In the old days, you used an anonymous source only as an absolute last resort. Some reporters never used one. I always assumed, when I saw a reference to an anonymous source in a story, that the odds were at least 50-50 that the "source" was the reporter. On a sidenote: Don't you love the way of journalism today: "says a source..." ... Thumbs up post!As a former journalist, I absolutely agree. In the old days, you used an anonymous source only as an absolute last resort. Some reporters never used one. It seems since Woodstein that reporters actually start out by offering anonymity, and think it adds credibility to a story. That's simply nuts.
If I were going to offer a source anonymity, I would do so on one condition: If it turned out the information was wrong, I could identify the source.
That "awful" your talking about beat Iowa.
