We can all complain about everything that is wrong with the team but honestly the fans have really not been good enough.

There are some other fan bases that have been frustrated with their coach or other things and still support their team.

I understand that some of you are trying to send a message to admin about what you think needs to happen.

While I understand why you have the belief you do, I feel like it makes our fanbase look really bad or petty. I try to argue this often but it often falls flat. No matter what your feelings are on the program, it has to absolutely suck for these guys that represent the University to play in front of empty seats. Most of these guys have come from other states to represent us, regardless of if that is the primary reason for coming or not.

On top of this, if you want other coaches or players to come to Iowa, why would you want to come with virtually no support? Just by switching coaches would never be a guarantee that fans will show up, especially right away.

As fans, there are very few things we can actually do to impact a game. The easiest is to just show up and support the guys.

OSU killing themselves with flags on offense.

Just looked at available tickets for tomorrow nights game and there are a ton of tickets available. It will look the same as it has all season, empty. Might take the family again.

I was at the Nebraska game and had my doubts for sure. But the guys surprised me and got it done and it was a blast. Even if it is half full it is loud and the guys fed off of it. Ill be there tomorrow.

I think we need an arena with box seats for the blue hairs and about 8k normal seats. Too bad we cant shrink the footprint somehow to improve the overall feel too.

would be nice to stay in the upper half of the conference, too.

9 teams have 2 or fewer conference losses.

Standings
1. Michigan (12-3, 4-0)
1. Michigan State (13-2, 4-0)
3. Illinois (12-3, 4-1)
3. Indiana (13-3, 4-1)
3. Purdue (12-4, 4-1)
6. Oregon (14-2, 3-2)
6. Wisconsin (13-3, 3-2)
8. Iowa (11-4, 2-2)
8. Nebraska (12-3, 2-2)

People vote with their wallets. The vote is clear that most Iowa fans want Fran gone. I'd rather sit at home and watch NFL playoffs on HDTV than pay to go a substandard program game. Get used to it. It is not going to change.

Beating IU is always fun.

Carver cones!!!

And we are favored?

Yep, Iowa is favored.

Indiana is playing better than they were earlier in the season. And they're are a tough matchup inside for Iowa.

But as frustrating as their defense is, Iowa is better than people think. Pretty much like most seasons. And Iowa typically performs well at home vs Indiana.

The betting value is definitely with Indiana. And I'm considering pulling the trigger on an Indiana bet, myself.

But Vegas couldn't get away with making Indiana a favorite, in the long run. They have to error on the side of what will happen in the long run. And over time, Iowa wins a lot of games at home vs like teams

People who justify their negativity and absenteeism by saying they're giving necessary feedback need to grow up.

AD's get paid plenty of money to have a clue.

Unless a person never says a word one way or the other, if people's words and actions aren't in support of the Hawks, then they're against the Hawks. And the role of the fan is to support

Remove yourself from the bb board. You're a hater and offer nothing of value here. Go back to the HBOT board where your circle jerk friends can prop you up and tacitly excuse your racism by virtue of their silence.

Edit your post an apologize to the fans like a man with honor and ill drop it.

I don't need to remove or edit anything. I'm simply the voice of reason here. And if you can't see it. That is on you. I don't care.

I understand that. Let's say Fran gets fired. Is everyone coming back the second we get a new coach?

More importantly, my argument isn't about Fran or any coaches. It's the guys we have on the team that are dedicated to being Hawks. The one difference between being a pro and college is that it's all free agency. The players chose to come here. My premise is if you want top players, we need to do our part to show up and support them.

It is like Sox and cubs.
Sox fans demand a winner or will not attend.
Sox owner see bad attendance and cuts player budget.
Team gets worse. Fans stay home ..owner cuts even more. Ugly spiral.

Cubs fans attend no matter record.
Team sucks. Fans come...owner invests in players...team turns corner...win world series 2016.

Nebraska has never won an NCAA tourney game...ever.
They sell out most men's home games.
Nebraska has a more loyal fan base.
Neb.Football, I get..but Nebby BB?

So we are supposed to be like Cubs fans that gave their franchise no incentive to win?

I've heard every excuse there is. The tip off times change. I don't like weeknight games. Weekend game interfere with kids sports.
Nothing but pissing and moaning. If you have the chance go because nothing beats the value of live sports, and you rarely walk out of CHA feeling like the team didn't put on a good show.

What am I missing here?

Wanna bet??...packed house expected....
See Clough’s comment above. You’re overestimating our fans.

Iowa fans love to:
1. Not show up for big games,
2. Give the team no home court edge in said big game, and then
3. Complain after losing said big game saying “see this is why I don’t go to games”

It’s a vicious circle.

Snowball's chance in hell that McCaffery gets fired. You just don't fire your all time winning coach. Now resigning is a different matter and I could see that happening after the season.
And I would dispute your "fact" that the fans want McCaffery gone. It might seem that way on this board, but I doubt that is the sentiment of most casual Iowa fans.

Unfortunately not even close. Check the secondary markets.

Where would rather play if you're a top player: A place where you play in front of fans or nobody?

I agree that the players would prefer to play in large crowds. Unfortunately the product is unwatchable. That is on the 14 year head coach that has made in excess of 20 million at Iowa and didn't have to pay for his kids college education.

They fired Tom Davis, who was the all time winning coach at the time

Again, I understand your disdain. My point is that not showing up to support the program may have long term implications. I also don't think it's fair to the guys putting everything they have into the program to represent us to say "we don't like your coach and think you are soft so we won't support you." That's all I'm saying.

I'll be there tonight.
