I'm not sure you're getting the point I'm making.
I'm not saying Trump deserves credit. I am saying it's probably faulty thinking that much of our electorate possesses that gives credit where it isn't due. It has been like this forever. Trump just lucked out. Ultimately it's just stupid luck of association. (or not)
I do think there are real numbers to support Trump times being better. However.
Take for example the below:

Yeah fair point. The end of his presidency, from what... Jan 2020 to through the election. All I can figure out is that it didn't leave enough "stink" on him compared to what Biden had to endure. (if we're just looking at economic perception)

I think it’s monumentally stupid to judge any president or world leader for “how they did” when it’s clear, in hindsight, that just about everyone fǔcked up. The lax states got some things wrong. The strict states got things wrong…it was a losing hand for everyone. The global economy was rocked. Not just ours. People got sick, not just in the U.S. Masks/no masks, social distancing/BAU…it barely mattered. All the while big pharma (who should be loathed by classic liberals) made out like bandits. Everyone took their lumps. To hold that against Trump or Trudeau or Macron or whoever else you can name, is being disingenuous.
