Curious to hear what people think the estimates will be for both sides. I know Iowa has a bigger fan base and travels much better.
MSU fans won't be spending any money at all on traveling to football games this year then.More Iowa fans at Indy, only because MSU fans saving their dollars for CFP games.

We've had weeks head start, rabid fanbase and MSU travels like crap.I'm betting a 50-50 split. This very well could be the hottest ticket for the Big 10 CCG ever. Both fan bases are fired up, Iowa with an undefeated season and the winner gets to go to the playoffs. Tickets will probably only get more expensive as we get closer to the game.
Oh, it's not much of a drive for MSU fans either.
Again, we've had a huge head start and have been snatching up tickets outside of the 10k allotment for quite awhile. Not sure what makes OP think Iowa has a bigger fan base than MSU. Indy also a bit closer to East Lansing. Still, Iowa fans do travel well. I'm guessing it might be close to 50/50.

Has got to be better than my trip to Denver last year, running myself right through Debby. Wish going around our neighbors to the west was a feasible option.I don't think distance is a factor. Iowa fans will flock there from Iowa and elsewhere. It's not a bad drive from Iowa.
You know this how?
Iowa has a big fan base?
I've travelled. I observe. I talk to people. Leave the Midwest and see how many Hawk fans there are compared to a Spartan fans out there.
That is a very unreliable and shallow basis to claim absolute knowledge, much less an opinion (which you did not offer - you said you "know"), and especially in light of the fact that Michigan State's total enrollment is almost twice that of Iowa.
I do believe that Iowa travels very well though.
Considering that Indy is a second home to Spartan Nation with all the Final Fours that we've been too there as well as 2 BiG championship games in the past 4 years, I'd say Spartan fans will flock to Indy. Having lived in Indy the biggest issue for all fans will be getting a room for a reasonable rate. Those go quick.Curious to hear what people think the estimates will be for both sides. That is ridiculous. You will have more because youve known you would be playing in the game for a couple of weeks. I seem to remember a rose bowl game two years ago where 3/4 of the stadium was wearing green despite the opponent being from the same state. We've had weeks head start, rabid fanbase and MSU travels like crap.

I went the the FF at Lucas Oil in Indy(last April)..not a bad showing, but far from great(MSU)...Kentucky and Wisconsin (TIE) Duke then MSU...how that translates to Saturday?,but they did not show in great #'sThey are much closer to Indy. It will probably be pretty even.
Lol, if you think enrollment = fan base size, then I understand why you don't get it.
At least that stat is factual .... I mean JFC because you travel and speak to people is pretty frickn lame.
"Leave the Midwest and see how many fans there are" LOL really? OK man you got it nailed.
... I mean you have to be a special kind of idiot to "know" that Iowa has a bigger fan base because you "speak to people" . Holy crap, that is some dumb Shiite right there.
... I suppose I would "get it" if, instead of referencing actual facts. maybe I should hang out in an airport somewhere outside the Midwest and "see how many Hawk fans there are" Jeezus -grow a brain.
Lol, you're simple.
Yeah, since you weren't in a Rose for 30+ years I'd hope so. Iowa would do the same and do it the next year as well. There will be 40k Iowa fans in Indy. That is ridiculous.
