How's Keegan Doing?

Yep. Too bad the Kings didn't go to Keegan all game long.

Keegan points:
12: 1st qtr
3: 2nd qtr
2: 3rd qtr
11: 4th qtr
..............
28 pts
It’s so frustrating with the ball hogs and the offense the Kings run some time. Keegan on absolute fire and they hardly look his way. When he’s hot like that he needs 6 or 8 more shots, instead they were running plays for Kevin Huerter to brick shots.

Good points.

When looking at shot attempts tonight:

13-24 (54%): De'Aaron Fox
..5-15 (33%): Kevin Huerter
10-14 (71%): Keegan Murray
..4-10 (40%): Malik Monk
...6-8 (75%): Domantas Sabonis

...3-7 (43%): Harrison Barnes
...2-3: Trey Lyles
...2-2: Davion Mitchell
...0-2: Chris Duarte

Kings seem to want KM to just spot up the whole game with fox/monk orchestrating.

Fox is very good but I do find myself wondering about the Halliburton trade.
He leads the NBA in assists at 11.6/ game and is scoring in mid-20's shooting over 40% from arc plus is a very good defender.
Sabonis has been very good so I guess it worked out but KM would benefit more from a Halliburton at PG. Tough call but I wish that had traded fox instead.
Their defense struggles. No Butler and Herro and Juaquez lites them up along with bam and love
Heat are hot right now but can't lose at home. Back to back is big factor.

Yep. Doggonit! Run some sets for Keegan when he's on a heater. Totally with you.

Just looking at the 2, 3, and 4 so far this year, they have been for the most part, inconsistent. There are also times in games where Keegan is down and all the rest are up, and then there are the ones where Keegan is up, and all the rest are down. Strange, isn't it? 🫤

get it to the guy who's hot; for some reason, the Kings suck at that

Especially if it's Monk. I hate to say it because I like him and appreciate the scoring and the fire he brings, but too many times I've seen the hero ball and the turnovers that sometimes come with that. He's a little too selfish with the ball and could be a better distributor. On the plus side, I firmly believe that he's the best player the Kings have in the pick and roll.

max contract coming soon. I have a feeling Harrison Barnes will be retiring, opening up cap space for Keegan's max money.
Barnes offers Leadership for the younger players, and he is only 31. Compare that to LeBron James who is 39. His game is still pretty good, although not consistent. I don't see him retiring soon, unless I missed an announcement somewhere. ;)

He played good defensively for the most part, but left Jaden McDaniels open for a made 3 pointer on a late closeout, which happens from time to time. Nice game from Keegan.

Sac loses at home 113-109. Keegan 11 pts, 6 rebs, 4 ast, a steal and 3 blks. One of the worst second half performances I've seen by an NBA team. At home.

The Kings led 56-49 at the half and 91-77 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Blowing a 14 point lead is crazy bad (the Kings got outscored 36-18 in the 4th qtr).

The Kings (34-26) have dropped to the #7 seed in the West so if the playoffs started today, they would be in the "play in" tournament with #8 Dallas, #9 Lakers and #10 Golden State.

Keegan's Stats:

39 minutes (of 48 possible)

Monk playing the usual hero ball, guys jacking up shots and not running the offense like they do when they play good ball. Domas had a rough first quarter scoring. 17 turnovers and shot 11-37 (29.7%) from 3. Mike Brown's substitutions are head scratchers sometimes.

The win gave the Kings a four game lead in the loss column over LA who is now 10th.
