How's Keegan Doing?

Kings lose bigtime, but what a performance by Keegan. 9-15 for 28 points. 9 threes, 6 rebounds, a steal, and 3 blocks. Well done!!
I think he had 7 3’s, but yeah he went off!!! Pretty sure he had 5 threes in the 3Q -scorching hot!

Wes Wilcox, the assistant to GM Monte McNair has taken the AD job at Utah University @Franisdaman. Matt is saying that McNair should be gone as well after this season. Monte, doing the "Reset" by firing Brown, trading Fox, and bringing in DeRozan and Lavine hasn't worked, meaning that the two of them do not play well together. Matt expects DeMar to be gone because he's going to be 36 in August and wants to be on a winning team or maybe a contender. LaVine is on a two-year and that's around 100 mil. Wants to see what he looks like without DeMar, and that his contract will be difficult to unload. Along with that, McNair is responsible for basically designing a G League bench with the exception of Valanciunas, Ellis, and LaRavia. According to Matt: Keegan, Sabonis (if he wants to stay), Ellis, Lavine, Carter, and Monk should stay (although he believes Monk should come off the bench, again as the 6th man). Valanciunas and LaRavia should should stay, and Lyles should go. Everyone else on the roster should go as well.
As for Doug Christie, Matt believes he should be retained as Head Coach, but only if McNair stays and decides to retain him. However, if Vivek cleans house in the front office, then the new Execs should decide who to hire as Head Coach. (And that's unofficially dependent that there is no input from Ranadive').
As to the remainder of this season, In my opinion, based on the remaining schedule, (A 6 game East Coast road trip coming up with a back-to-back in it beginning after the next game at home with Portland), they will end their season at home against Denver, Clippers, and Phoenix (Mercifully, if I may add).
If the Kings lock up the 10th spot, and somehow, some way advance to the 8th seed, they would face OKC and get humiliated, possibly swept in that series.

What an incredible downward slide from just 2 years ago when they were the 3rd best team in the Western Conference.

This is from an earlier post of mine:

They were! Remember Fox, HB, Huerter, TD, Richaun Holmes, Chimezie Metu, KZ Okpala, Neemias Queta, and current player Keon Ellis? It was fun to have Matthew Dellavedova around to help the youngsters. Add these to the starters, Sabonis, Keegan, Monk minus DeMar, Zach, Jonas V, and Jake LaRavia.

If last night’s performance is any indication Keegan will be just fine and needs more opportunities in the offense.

Teams like Boston and OKC are just leagues ahead of Sacramento in terms of talent and finished product.

Lavine hasn’t played like a 50 mil guy and was a bad trade (Fox wanted out though). I like Derozan but he’s limited especially on defense and the Lavine/Derozan combination doesn’t seem to be great as the Bulls showed previously.

Christie should go, better head coaching options out there. Keegan, Ellis, LaRavia and Sabonis, maybe Monk — not a spectacular team to build around but all that’s worth keeping at this point.

Keegan's play has been very good as of late. Keep up the good work now as you head into a six game East Coast road trip! Keep in mind that the win was Portland at home, so it's going to be a lot tougher coming up.

The Kings were taken to the woodshed at Orlando, losing by 30, 121-91. Keegan with 9/3. Kings are now tied with Dallas for the 9/10 seed with a record of 36-38. The Phoenix Suns are right on their heels at 35-39. Will Sac make the Play-in? We'll see as there are now 8 games remaining in the regular season.

EDIT: Mavs won today and the Kings are in 10th place now. Not looking good.

The Kings once again find a way to lose, 111-109. Had a 2 point lead with just over 2 to play and the rest is history. Keegan had 12/7. Kings now find themselves 1/2 game ahead of the Suns who occupy 11th place.

The Kings led by 5 (86-81) after 3 quarters, too.

Keegan took just 11 of the Kings' 92 shot attempts.

As you can see in what follows, everyone shot decently except for Monk, who came off the bench, and got up more shots than Keegan. Monk's bricks and 14% shooting killed the Kings in a 2 point loss.

Kings FG Shooting:
12-24 (50%): DeRozan
11-19 (58%): Saboinis
7-15 (47%): LaVine
2-14 (14%): Monk
5-11 (45%): Keegan
.................................................
6-9 (67%): Rest of Team
.................................................
43-92 (47%) Overall
==================

Monk has not been himself lately, not sure what the deal is. Admittedly I've soured on this Kings team and franchise. At this point I hope they move Demar and/or Lavine and Keegan gets his opportunity on offense moving forward.

Sabonis over the franchise just like Fox was. He was the only one I really wanted to keep besides Keegan but he is the type of player that has a unique skillset that you can build a team around. I just think to a certain degree Keegan has benefited from his passing ability from the center position.

I've read some articles that indicate the time is now for a Sabonis move....his value will never be higher.

In not this offseason, then at least before the trading deadline next year. Unless they come out on 🔥next year (think OKC level) then I bet they start fielding offers for him.

I like Sabonis a lot but he definitely has some limitations and can be a liability on defense against more athletic bigs. His rebounding and passing are just so elite though.

I agree now is the time for him if he wants to maximize his earning potential. Wish him the best wherever he lands.

It's been reported that Sabonis will seek "clarification" as to the direction of the franchise over the off season. That could mean a move perhaps.
