Hoyburg to Debra Today

Hoiberg will put pressure on both IA State and Iowa for Iowa BB Kids. He will also hasten Fran's departure or force him to change how he recruits. With NE/IA st./Minn nearby moving along and upwards there will be pressure everywhere.

No he wont. He didnt even recruit Iowa kids to Iowa State. He won largely with a number of transfers. Kudos to him though because he won more tournament games in his 5 years at Iowa State than we've seen at Iowa in 20 years.

I'd be jealous a little of Iowa if they had 5 National Championships, all the conference titles, award winners, and national recognition of having some of the best college football teams ever. Esp being it was a state very similar to Neb in terms of location, demographics, etc. I'd wonder why we couldn't have done that if Iowa had all that success.

Que the "you suck now....4-8...scoreboard...Debbie skirts...Lincoln sucks".

Good times ahead for Neb with Frost and Hoiberg! Can't wait! Oh plus Neb is going to announce a facilities upgrade similar to what Clemson did. Lots of good stuff happening in Lincoln.
Except for it’s Lincoln. Blah

Not to mention that Fred rarely targets the same players Fran does. During his time in Ames, I believe he maybe offered two or three in state kids that Fran offered and did not land any of them.

You just said AP and UPI...

I said AP and coaches..

You said same difference...

So, in 1958 3 different voting groups voted Iowa/LSU

1997 2 different voting groups voted
MICH/neb

But, since we are Iowa you dont want us to count this as a NC?

There you guys go again...wanting it both ways...

My god could you be any dumber?

FOLLOW THE BOUNCING BALL!!!!!

God you guys are equally hilarious and pathetic. You don’t even realize that your glory days are way past and not coming back. It will be a pleasure when Hoiberg ditches you guys in about 3 years and Frost can’t win enough to make you happy.

I really like your login id Hoosker Du. Is that a reference to the great band out of Minneapolis in the early 80's by chance?

Of course it is. :) Love the Minneapolis music scene. Husker Du, Replacements, Soul Asylum (to a degree), Jayhawks, Golden Smog - members of the Jayhawks, Wilco, Soul Asylum, Replacements, and Run Westy Run; Son Volt - 2 members were from Minneapolis and actually did their early practices and recording in both Minneapolis and St. Louis. And of course Bob Dylan being from Duluth. Prince was sort of an afterthought for me.

Go Google again..polls identified lsu..

Writers association voted iowa...

Shared like 1997

Go home...

"Iowa finished the 1958 regular season ranked #2 in the AP and Coaches Polls, behind 11–0 LSU, although both votes were taken before the bowl games. Iowa convincingly won the 1959 Rose Bowl, 38–12, setting or tying six Rose Bowl records. The Football Writers Association of America gave their national championship trophy, the Grantland Rice Trophy, to Iowa."

Grantland Rice Trophy = door stop or paperweight.

Iowa is recognized by the NCAA as being able to claim a national championship for 1958, thus your opinion is basically worthless.

Plus...I’ll give more weight to the Grantland Rice Trophy than to a couple of polls taken before the season was even over!

Pathetic attempt by a Nebraska fan. Huskers are no longer relevant in any major sport, so their fan base is reduced to attempting to tear down the accomplishments of another school. Sad.

Sweet. I agree with everything you said. I'm a major Jayhawks fan too; in addition to Husker Du, Replacements (wish Bob Stinson was still around), Golden Smog as well as Wilco, Son Volt, and Uncle Tupelo - all with ties to the Mpls music scene as you say.

I still listen to the Jayhawks at least once a week. They just keep producing great music. From Hollywood Town Hall, Tomorrow the Green Grass, Smile, Rainy Day Music, all the way up to their latest CD Backroads & Abandoned Motels - Gonna Be Darkness & Everybody Knows. Just quality music.

I saw them at First Avenue last Dec. A couple of members from Golden Smog joined them on stage for the finale; performed Until You Came Along. Outstanding show at an outstanding venue - home stage to many of the bands you mentioned.

Glad to hear there is a mutual fan out there.
