Forgive me if this has been answered, I recall Garvin listing Iowa in his top 5 schools awhile back. He still hasn’t verballed yet, is there any mutual interest? It would seem like a no-brainer to get a commit from the #2 kid in the country from ICW. Who’s got the scoop?
So he’s smart enough to go to Stanford but still might chose Iowa St? Stanford may dq him on sheer principle. The word is that it's down to ISU and Stanford. The Clones have put in a lot of time and energy there. I don't believe he came for an official.
@145, sorry abtuseness…..He’s the second best high school recruit in the country?
I'm curious as to why the Hawkeyes are out of the picture with Garvin. I read somewhere Iowa’s interest cooled on him. Or is it the opposite?
i don't want to burst your bubble, but he's from iowaThere is no way Iowa cooled on him unless he had no interest. He’s a monster. He beat Riggins, but I’m pretty sure Riggins was wrestling on a torn ACL. Riggins is a different animal now and obviously heavier.

Wrong on the first, correct on the secondAvila is better, don’t think he has committed anywhere yet
yep, this. When he was lighter I thought he had potential to be a high AA caliber. Watching him lately, he is a talented wrestler just not what the hawks need. Definitely would take him thoughWrong on the first, correct on the second

He won folkstyle nationals last spring.Garvin is fun to watch because he is unorthodox. Will his style translate to college? I can't remember but when was the last time he wrestled a national tourney?
Also placed at Super 32 last fall. Super talented, but I do agree with Chief. Harder to tell how well his style will translate. Doesn’t really matter, because it appears he’s headed elsewhere. He won folkstyle nationals last spring.
So your saying BGW to Iowa St and Sebolt to IowaI've heard Cornell is in there too and not sure that BGW has that great of relationship with Iowa, so that doesn't help with Garvin or any future studs they may produce.
Just because BG has a better relationship with ISU that doesn’t mean they have a bad one with Iowa. So if Iowa lands Tate Naaktgeboren does ur statement still hold true?I've heard Cornell is in there too and not sure that BGW has that great of relationship with Iowa, so that doesn't help with Garvin or any future studs they may produce.
That's what I'm saying. My opinion Tate N is a Iowa lean currently.Just because BG has a better relationship with ISU that doesn’t mean they have a bad one with Iowa. So if Iowa lands Tate Naaktgeboren does ur statement still hold true?
Regardless if they get Tate or not, it's not a good relationship. If Tate goes to Iowa, it shows they are letting the kids decide for themselves and that's the way it should be. I'm just stating that it's going to be harder for Iowa to get kids from that program but I hope I'm wrongJust because BG has a better relationship with ISU that doesn’t mean they have a bad one with Iowa. isnt BGW ran by ex hawkeye dylan carew?I've heard Cornell is in there too and not sure that BGW has that great of relationship with Iowa, so that doesn't help with Garvin or any future studs they may produce.
Yes and also very good friends with DSJisnt BGW ran by ex hawkeye dylan carew?
And Sebolt was a Cyclone, and all his guys aren't heading to ISU. You lead a horse to water and he does the rest. This bad blood rumor was started by ISU fans to grasp some hope that maybe just maybe they will have some sort of a leg up on Iowa. BG doesn’t give more access to ISU then Iowa. Yes DSJ is close with those guys, but that’s not gonna get BGW to tell all there kids to go to ISU.
Tyler Clark too according to the website.Jessie Whitmer is also a coach at BGW. Pretty sure he thinks the world of the Brands Bros. Ali Ragan is there, so we know how that ended. Bunch of Carews, Skyler St John and Billy Murphy. Is that the Billy Murphy from CA?
That’s a hell of a staff. What do these kids pay to go there?Tyler Clark too according to the website.
Looks like 150 a month or 1200 for the year. That includes 4 practices a weekThat’s a hell of a staff. What do these kids pay to go there?
That’s not bad at all.Looks like 150 a month or 1200 for the year. That includes 4 practices a week
$25/practice @ yearly rate.Looks like 150 a month or 1200 for the year. That includes 4 practices a week
4 practices a week for 52 weeks is 208 practices a year. More like $5/practice.$25/practice @ yearly rate.
How many kids are in the club?
Doh! Lol4 practices a week for 52 weeks is 208 practices a year. More like $5/practice.
no clue, don't send my kid there. Just pulled info off his website.$25/practice @ yearly rate.
How many kids are in the club?
They don't practice 4x a week for 52 weeks. Their rates aren't any worse than other "elite" clubs as far as a I know.4 practices a week for 52 weeks is 208 practices a year. More like $5/practice.

I think the kid and the parents have more sway on where they end up (says Captain Obvious).
