I recall seeing a video a year or two ago (I believe produced by TrackWrestling) featuring the BGWC new wrestling facility. Tom Lepic was featured as the primary contributor. Has he taken sides in the “bad blood” or is he neutral?
I’m a bit confused by this statement, Kueter wrestles for Sebolt not Big Game.

My question is why the bad blood between any former wrestlers. It seems like it is happening a lot and not a good look whoever is at fault. Just to name some of the former wrestlers we have heard have bad blood with the Brands brothers - Carew, DSJ, Metcalf, Ramos, Gilman, Steiner, Schwab just to name a few that have been mentioned on this board in the past. I'm sure I'm missing some as well.

Serious question isn’t that what the message board is for? We talk about wrestlers weights, their off season habits, their work ethic, their families, and everything in between. If we stayed out of people’s business this board would have zero posts.

Not quite “insider” information here, but DSJ did an interview with Flo a couple years back about leaving the HWC and Iowa program. He said that he and the Brands haven’t said so much as hello to each other since 2015. CP essentially asked if he parted on bad terms and DSJ said no, and added that he just went his own way. He had a lot of injuries, so he transitioned to coaching. He credited Terry to helping him get back on the mat during an injury plagued season in 2012. The T Ram thing with Tom was pretty public as well.
Absolutely no inside knowledge, but my 100% guess is Carew's bad blood with the Iowa staff has more to do with his allegiance to DSJ than anything else. I'm also guessing that it has a very minor bearing in where his kids go although I bet it does have a minor bearing. Definitely worth the Iowa's staff to mend fences in my opinion.
The Brands' generally do not take kindly to those who choose to become competitors. It's how they are wired. That doesn’t mean some fences don’t get mended over time.
Once a Hawk always a Hawk and a strong believer in that. If you choose to leave the Hawk family then that’s your business. Adios.
It would be nice to get a big over view of the problems. The guy thought he did not get a fair shot at a wrestle off. He felt he was lied to. The coach felt the kids stabbed him in the back for no reason. yada yada yada...
People like the Brands - who are ultra competitive - are not going to go thru life without making some enemies. (and I am not saying they are to blame for any of it) That is to be expected. We just like to hear the gossip and details. Call us immature if you like. That would be an upgrade for many of us.
Personally, I think I could figure out that not everyone loves everyone and that people have disagreements. The world of college recruiting is extremely cut throat. There is no such thing as when a salesman leaves the firm and signs a "do not compete" clause so territories are not imposed upon. In my outsiders opinion, I would guess you know exactly where you stand with the Brands'. You are now in competition and they want to win. Once that is no longer part of the equation, maybe things will change.
I think this is it, and I respect the tenacity, but I also think this could be an area of improvement for them. It might not be a huge deal, but it certainly isn't a good thing that there are several high profile former hawkeyes who have "bad blood" with the program. I'm hoping the transition for the current group goes smoother.
It most certainly will…. I think the staff has made a conscious effort in that regard over the past 5-6 years.
Everyone needs to reel in the go go gadget arms and stop reaching for things. People like to make things up and act important. Nobody is telling guys to not go here or there. And the clubs are competitiors nobody hates anyone. All just the drama people want for some reason drama makes many people tick
